No—not through Luna’s former game store. Amazon ended Luna game stores, individual game purchases and third-party subscriptions on April 10, 2026. Games bought through that system, and games accessed through the former Bring Your Own Library feature, stopped being playable on Luna after June 10, 2026. Purchases made inside a particular game are a separate, publisher-controlled matter and should be checked title by title.
What counts as a game add-on?
“Add-on” can mean several different things: downloadable content (DLC), an expansion, a season pass, a deluxe-edition upgrade, cosmetics, virtual currency, consumables such as boosts, or an extra subscription attached to a base subscription. Those products can have different sellers and entitlements. A DLC purchase from a game store is not the same as buying currency inside a running game, and neither is the same as Amazon’s developer-facing “add-on subscription” feature.
What changed on Amazon Luna?

Before the shutdown, Luna did allow users to buy select Ubisoft PC games through its interface. Amazon’s older instructions describe a “Buy” flow, linked Amazon and Ubisoft accounts, and access through Ubisoft Connect. Can you buy DLC elsewhere and use it on Luna?
Not as a general, currently supported Luna feature. Buying DLC from Ubisoft, EA, GOG, Steam or another seller may grant an entitlement on that seller’s platform account, but it does not establish that the matching game edition can be streamed on Luna. Amazon ended the former Bring Your Own Library route, and affected games lost Luna playability after June 10, 2026.

For any title that appears to have a current exception, verify the current Luna game page and the publisher’s Luna-specific support information before paying. Confirm the exact edition and account involved; owning a DLC pack on one PC store does not automatically make it available in another store’s edition or through a cloud service.
Are in-game purchases different?
Yes. An in-game transaction—such as virtual currency, cosmetics, a battle pass or a consumable—is initiated from within a game, not through Luna’s former storefront. The publisher controls whether the transaction works, which account receives the item and which payment method or platform edition is required. Luna does not publish a blanket promise that every streamed game supports such purchases, and availability can vary by game, region, device and publisher policy.

EA’s Luna support page mentions EA SPORTS FC in-game purchases and rewards, but also records the end of EA’s Bring Your Own License system on June 3, 2026. That title-specific statement is not proof that purchases work across Luna games or that a particular game remains streamable. Check the current listing and publisher guidance rather than buying DLC just because a base game appears in a subscription catalog.

Amazon says previously purchased games can remain accessible through the linked external platform account—such as EA App, GOG Galaxy or Ubisoft Connect—but not through Luna after the June 10 cutoff. The account may retain the entitlement; Luna streaming access is a separate matter. Amazon’s explanation is in its service notice.

Whether an add-on still works elsewhere depends on where the base game and DLC were bought, whether the add-on is tied to a particular platform edition, whether the account still owns the base game, and whether the publisher supports cross-entitlements or cross-progression. If a past purchase is missing, check the receipt’s merchant and the platform account that received it; Amazon directs users with questions about former Luna purchases to customer service.
Why Amazon Appstore add-on pages do not mean Luna sells DLC
Amazon’s Appstore developer documentation describes in-app purchase types such as consumables, entitlements and subscriptions. Its “add-on subscriptions” are secondary subscriptions tied to a base subscription, implemented by selected app partners through the Appstore SDK. Amazon says this feature is purchasable through Fire TV, not Fire tablets or the Amazon retail website. These documents describe an app-development and Fire OS billing feature, not a consumer Luna DLC marketplace: see Amazon’s pages on purchase types, add-on subscriptions and setting them up.

How to check before paying for an add-on
- Open the game’s current Luna detail page and confirm that the game is currently playable, not merely mentioned in an old library or support page.
- Identify the exact game edition and publisher account. A subscription-included game is not necessarily an owned copy on another platform.
- Check the publisher’s current Luna-specific support information for that game and edition, including its rules for DLC or in-game purchases.
- Confirm where an external purchase will be delivered—such as Ubisoft Connect, EA App, GOG or Steam—and whether that entitlement matches the edition you can play.
- Check the country and device requirements, and confirm that you own or retain access to the base game on the platform where the add-on is sold.
If there is no purchase option on Luna, that is not a reason to assume an external DLC purchase will work with Luna. The storefront may be discontinued, the game may be subscription-only or unavailable in your region, or the add-on may belong to another platform edition.
Where to play if keeping DLC is the priority
- Publisher storefront: Buying directly from the publisher can keep an entitlement on that publisher account, but it does not guarantee Luna streaming access.
- Local PC or console: A supported local platform can offer more direct control over edition compatibility and offline play, subject to the platform and publisher’s rules.
- Another cloud service: Check that it supports the exact store version and DLC entitlement before subscribing or buying; support for a game name alone may not confirm support for every edition.
- Ubisoft+: Amazon recommends that users who want to maintain Ubisoft+ Premium sign up directly with Ubisoft. It remains a subscription, not permanent ownership, and access depends on Ubisoft’s current plan, catalog and platform rules. See Amazon’s notice and Ubisoft’s plan page.
Amazon’s current public positioning emphasizes games included with Prime rather than an a-la-carte storefront; its Luna announcement describes included game access. Subscription-included access is different from buying and keeping a game or its DLC.
