Spoilers for the completed story: No—the original Arkham Batman survives. In the main campaign, the Suicide Squad kills the Brainiac-controlled Batman and Lois Lane delivers a eulogy, making his death appear real. Episode 8 later reveals that the Batman they killed was a clone.

What happens in the main campaign?

The game is set in the Arkham universe, five years after Batman: Arkham Knight, according to Warner Bros. Games’ launch announcement. Its Batman has returned to the Justice League after staging his death at the end of Arkham Knight and adopting the fear-inducing Demon Bat persona.

Brainiac takes control of Batman. Following Batman’s instructions for defeating the League, the Squad confronts the Brainiac-controlled Demon Bat in Centennial Park and kills him. The campaign’s credits are followed by Lois Lane’s eulogy. At that point, the story presents Batman’s death as genuine. DC’s March 2024 account of the Arkhamverse story describes that apparent outcome, but it predates the final episode.

What does Episode 8 reveal?

The completed story changes what that scene means: the Batman killed by the Squad was a clone, and the original Arkham Batman had not been killed. Episode 8, the final seasonal episode, was released on January 14, 2025, according to the DC Games Support / Warner Bros. Games Season 4 FAQ. A Gizmodo report published the following day says the apparent deaths of Batman and Superman in the main game were deaths of clones.

So, is Arkham Batman still alive?

Yes. The distinction is the timing: in the main campaign, the Squad appears to kill Batman and the story mourns him; by the end of the final episode, the victim is revealed to have been a clone and the original survives. This answer applies to Batman; it does not mean every League member survives. Wonder Woman remains dead in the finale.
