Yes, but only for qualifying Crunchyroll tiers. Game Vault lets Mega Fan, Ultimate, and Annual Mega Fan subscribers download a rotating selection of mobile games at no additional charge while the eligible membership is active. It is not included with every Premium plan, it currently targets Android and iOS, and downloading a title does not establish permanent ownership after your subscription ends.
What is Crunchyroll Game Vault?
Game Vault is a subscription-based library of mobile games bundled with selected Crunchyroll memberships. Crunchyroll describes eligible titles as available “for free,” meaning you do not pay a separate purchase price for each included game. The benefit is part of the membership rather than a standalone free-game store. See Crunchyroll’s Game Vault definition.
The service launched for Mega and Ultimate members in November 2023, according to Crunchyroll’s announcement. The catalog and eligibility details can change, so treat the current Game Vault listing and your account page as the final authority.

The current official definition names these qualifying tiers:

A separate troubleshooting article refers to Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan, but the newer definition explicitly adds Annual Mega Fan. If your account is paid but Game Vault is missing, verify the exact tier rather than relying on the general label “Premium.”
What does “free” mean?
No separate game purchase
An eligible subscriber can install an included title without buying it separately. That is the practical saving compared with purchasing each mobile game from an app store.
Still tied to a subscription
There is no Game Vault access without a qualifying Crunchyroll membership. “Free” means included in the subscription, not free for everyone.

Not guaranteed permanent ownership
Crunchyroll presents Game Vault as subscription access. Its current help material does not promise that a downloaded game remains playable after eligibility ends, so do not treat an installation as a permanent purchase or assume offline play will continue indefinitely.
How to install a Game Vault title
- Sign in to the Crunchyroll account that has a Mega Fan, Ultimate, or Annual Mega Fan membership.
- Open the Crunchyroll mobile app and find Crunchyroll Game Vault on the home page.
- Select a game and follow the link to its Apple App Store or Google Play listing.
- Install the game, then launch it. If prompted, authenticate with the Crunchyroll account linked to the qualifying membership.
You can also search for Game Vault titles directly in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The app’s labels and placement may change, so the current support instructions are more reliable than an old screenshot.
Which devices support Game Vault?
The official platform page lists Android and iOS. That is separate from the devices that can stream Crunchyroll video: current material does not establish Game Vault support for Windows, macOS, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or smart TVs. A phone or tablet that runs the video app is not automatically compatible with every Game Vault title.

General requirements are not perfectly consistent across Crunchyroll’s help pages. One page lists Android 8 or later with 4 GB RAM and 10 GB free storage, and iOS 12 or later with an A12 chip or better. Another recommends iOS 15 or later and Android 11 or later, with at least 3 GB RAM while warning that some games require more. These may reflect different titles or updated guidance. Check the individual device specifications page and, most importantly, the game’s store listing before installing.
What games are in the library?
The catalog rotates and varies by market. In February 2025, Crunchyroll described it as having more than 40 titles. That dated count is not a guaranteed September 2026 total. Examples from that roundup include:
- Anime, visual novels and story games: STEINS;GATE, Eternights, Tokyo Dark Remembrance
- Action and beat ’em ups: River City Girls, River City Girls 2, Shantae and the Seven Sirens
- RPG and strategy: Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Moonstone Island, 9 Years of Shadows
- Puzzle and cozy games: Freshly Frosted, inbento, Tengami
- Crunchyroll-branded selections: Hime’s Quest and Crunchyroll: MMC KENKEN Math
Those examples come from Crunchyroll’s February 2025 roundup; confirm each title in the current Game Vault or your regional store before planning around it. The lineup is mixed: it includes licensed anime games, indie releases, older premium games and non-anime titles.

Are Game Vault games ad-free and free of microtransactions?
In 2025 promotional coverage, Crunchyroll marketed Game Vault as a growing library of ad-free games without microtransactions. That is useful guidance about the service’s intended presentation, not a permanent technical guarantee for every future title. Check the individual store listing for a game’s current billing, downloadable-content and external-purchase terms. See the Crunchyroll announcement for that positioning.

Availability is not worldwide by default. Crunchyroll’s supported-region list includes the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, many Central and South American markets, and several Caribbean territories. Consult the official region list if your country is not obvious.

A supported country does not guarantee every title. App-store account region, licensing, language support, the individual game and device requirements can all affect whether a listing appears.

What happens if you cancel?
Crunchyroll’s cancellation policy says Premium benefits generally continue until the end of the already-paid billing period after cancellation. That stops the next renewal; it does not establish permanent Game Vault rights. Assume access depends on active qualifying eligibility, and check a title’s current terms if you need to know what happens to an installed game after expiration.
Game Vault troubleshooting
- Confirm the plan is Mega Fan, Ultimate, or Annual Mega Fan.
- Sign out and back in to the Crunchyroll account that actually holds the subscription.
- Update both the Crunchyroll app and the game.
- Check the title’s availability in your country and in your Apple or Google account region.
- Compare your device, operating-system version, RAM and free storage with the individual store listing.
- Launch from the Game Vault listing rather than an unrelated copy of the same game.
- Do not assume a separately purchased copy automatically links to Game Vault access.
- If the problem remains, contact Crunchyroll support with the game title, account email, device, OS version and a screenshot or recording, as requested in the official troubleshooting guide.
Is upgrading worth it?
It can be good value when
- You already want Crunchyroll’s anime-streaming benefits.
- You play on iPhone, iPad or Android rather than console or PC.
- You prefer trying several premium-style mobile games to buying one title at a time.
- You enjoy indie games, visual novels, RPGs and anime-related releases.
It may be a poor fit when
- You only want the lowest Crunchyroll tier, which is not named as eligible.
- You play primarily on consoles or computers.
- You want permanent ownership independent of a subscription.
- You are upgrading solely for one game whose standalone price is lower than the additional membership cost.
- Your device has limited storage, older hardware or an unsupported operating system.
Check current prices and promotions on the Crunchyroll Premium plans page; amounts vary by country, billing channel and promotion. Do not choose Ultimate solely for Game Vault unless its other membership benefits matter to you.
The bottom line
Crunchyroll Game Vault is best understood as a bundled mobile-game library, not a universal giveaway. Mega Fan, Ultimate and Annual Mega Fan members can download included Android and iOS titles without another purchase, but access remains subscription-based, the catalog can change, and country and device restrictions apply. If you already pay for Crunchyroll and play mobile games, it can add meaningful value; if you want a single game permanently or play on PC and console, buying that game separately may fit better.
