No. Double strike does not ignore or cancel deathtouch. Double strike governs when a creature assigns combat damage; deathtouch governs what happens when its source deals damage. A creature dealt damage by a deathtouch source in the first combat damage step can be destroyed before the second.
How double strike and deathtouch work together
These abilities affect different parts of combat. Under the Magic: The Gathering Comprehensive Rules, dated June 19, 2026, double strike modifies the combat damage step: creatures with first strike or double strike may assign damage in the first step, and eligible creatures then assign damage in a second step. Deathtouch makes nonzero combat damage from its source lethal to a creature.
So double strike can give a creature an additional opportunity to deal combat damage, but it does not protect that creature from deathtouch. A creature with toughness greater than zero that is dealt damage by a deathtouch source is destroyed as a state-based action.
What happens in common combat situations?
A double-strike attacker is blocked by a deathtouch creature
If the blocker deals combat damage to the attacker in the first damage step, and the attacker survives long enough for that damage to be dealt, deathtouch can destroy it afterward. A creature destroyed before the second damage step cannot assign damage in that step.

A double-strike creature has deathtouch
Its nonzero combat damage to a creature is lethal under the deathtouch rule. If it destroys a blocker in the first damage step, that blocker generally will not deal damage in the later step unless it was also eligible to assign damage in the first step.
The double-strike creature is unblocked
If it remains eligible to assign combat damage in the second step, it can assign damage to the defending player in both steps. Deathtouch does not change that timing.

Does double strike apply to noncombat damage?
No. Double strike changes combat damage assignments; it does not make a source deal noncombat damage twice. Deathtouch applies when its source deals damage, while double strike’s additional damage assignment concerns combat.
