Yes. The Official Calamity Mod Wiki lists Terraprisma as a guaranteed drop when all damage dealt to the Empress of Light is dealt during the day. The daytime fight is exceptionally dangerous: her attacks instantly kill the player, according to the wiki.
What condition guarantees Terraprisma?
The Calamity drop table lists Terraprisma at 100% when 100% of damage is dealt during the day. The Official Terraria Wiki likewise says the weapon is always dropped if all damage dealt to the Empress occurs during daytime (Terraprisma; obtaining guide).

The important detail is that the condition applies to all damage dealt to her, not merely the moment she is defeated. If any damage lands outside daytime, the documented guarantee does not apply.
Why is the daytime fight risky?
The Calamity wiki says the Empress’s daytime attacks instantly kill the player. The Terraria strategy guide also characterizes the daytime encounter as exceptionally unforgiving. The guaranteed drop therefore comes with a substantial survival challenge; the drop rate does not make the fight safer.

Why might an older guide say something different?
The Calamity page history records an earlier change to standard 25% / 33.33% chances, followed by a later change that restored the daytime-only behavior. Older posts may describe that different version. The current documented rule on the official Calamity wiki is the daytime damage condition above.

- Check whether every hit on the Empress occurred during daytime; a daytime finishing blow alone is not enough if earlier damage was dealt at night.
- Check the Calamity version installed against the version described by its wiki. Historical versions did not all use the same drop behavior.
- Consider whether another mod changes drops or encounter behavior. The wiki documents the official Calamity rule, but it cannot establish the behavior of every mod combination.
The cited Calamity page describes the desktop Terraria/Calamity context. The Terraria item page covers desktop, console, and mobile, but that does not establish Calamity behavior on every platform.
