How local co-op differs from online co-op
Split-screen is local campaign co-op: two people play the story together on one supported console and display. Online co-op is a separate way to play together over the internet. The official listings confirm campaign split-screen, but do not establish local split-screen support for Versus in Reloaded.
Xbox Wire described Versus as supporting up to eight players online in its 2025 launch coverage. That figure refers to online Versus, not local split-screen.

What you need to play locally
On Xbox, the listing identifies two-player local co-op, so you will need a second compatible controller if you do not already have one. The official sources do not specify the exact setup sequence or confirm account and guest requirements; check the game’s menus and platform prompts rather than relying on a particular button sequence or assuming guest sign-in will work.
For local play, the subscription requirements stated for online multiplayer do not apply as a requirement to connect to another player over the internet. On PlayStation, the listing specifically makes online play optional and ties PS Plus to online play.
