Yes. Marathon has a regular Duos queue, but it rotates between locations: the active location changes daily and is marked “Duos” in Zone Select. You can also play solo or queue for Trios. Bungie has not confirmed a Quads queue in the official information cited here.
How the Duos queue works
Bungie’s Update 1.1.0, dated June 2, 2026, describes Duos as a regular option with one location selected each day. Check Zone Select for the location carrying the Duos marker; the daily rotation means Duos is not available on every location at once.
Bungie’s Season 2 announcement names Perimeter, Dire Marsh, Night Marsh, and Outpost as the rotation pool. That list does not identify which location is active today, so use the in-game marker rather than relying on a fixed schedule.

The Solo-only Vault Breaker queue is a mode-specific, experimental option; it is not evidence of a general solo queue for every activity. Details in this table reflect Bungie’s Update 1.1.5.1, dated July 28, 2026.

Can you solo queue into Duos?
The cited current information does not establish whether a solo player can enter the rotating Duos queue. Bungie Support’s March 19, 2026 response said players had to queue with a friend for that March test. Because that predates the Season 2 rotating queue, it should not be treated as the current rule.
If you want to play alone, Bungie’s July guidance is to choose Trios with Crew Fill off for a challenge. For a solo-only queue, the official update identifies experimental Vault Breaker.

Why does Duos rotate?
Bungie says it is being deliberate about matchmaking divisions and will evaluate feedback on Duos. In its launch learnings article, Bungie described the broader matchmaking trade-off as balancing match quality against queue times. The cited sources do not publish queue-time estimates or performance statistics for Duos.
