The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered’s Digital Deluxe Edition adds quests that reward new Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon horse armor sets. But horse armor is not exclusive to Deluxe: the older Horse Pack Armor is included as downloadable content in Standard Edition too.
Which horse armor comes with each edition?
Bethesda distinguishes the original Horse Pack Armor from the new armor tied to Deluxe Edition quests. That distinction matters: Standard owners get the legacy pack, while Deluxe adds the two new themed sets.

Bethesda’s edition guide lists Horse Pack Armor among DLC included with Standard and Deluxe, and separately describes the new Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon quest rewards. Bethesda’s April 22, 2025 launch announcement also describes the Deluxe upgrade as an option for owners of the digital base game.
What if you want a physical Deluxe Edition?
Bethesda announced a Physical Deluxe Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The package includes a game disc and a code for the digital extras, but the full game files and extras require an internet download. Bethesda says the game can be played offline after that initial download.

The physical release is limited and available while supplies last. Bethesda points buyers to selected regional stores and does not give one universal price, so check the current local listing for stock and cost. Its physical-edition announcement and FAQ provide the format and download details.
Does the same distinction apply on Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. Bethesda’s Switch 2 announcement lists the legacy Horse Armor Pack in both Standard and Deluxe contents, while the Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armor, weapon, and horse armor sets are Deluxe extras. The announcement gives August 11, 2026 as the Switch 2 launch date. For this platform, too, the older pack is not a Deluxe exclusive.

- Choose Standard if you want the base game and its included legacy DLC, including Horse Pack Armor, without the new Deluxe quest rewards.
- Choose Digital Deluxe if you want the Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon quests and their armor, weapon, and horse armor sets, as well as the digital artbook and soundtrack app.
- Choose the Deluxe upgrade only if you already have the compatible digital base game; it does not replace or include that game.
- Consider Physical Deluxe if you want a PS5 or Xbox Series X disc edition and accept that downloading the full game files and extras is required.
Bethesda’s US PlayStation Store listing also describes the digital Deluxe contents. Its displayed price can change and applies to that storefront, so it should not be treated as a universal price.
