Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRoblox’s official account guidance does not state that accounts are closed solely for inactivity, and it gives no inactivity deadline. That does not guarantee every old account will remain available indefinitely; it means inactivity alone is not evidence that your account was deleted. If you are trying to return, start with Roblox’s recovery options or contact Roblox Support.
How long can a Roblox account be inactive?
Roblox’s account-management guidance does not publish a time limit after which an inactive account is closed. It also does not promise that every account will be retained indefinitely. If you stopped playing and later cannot sign in, treat the issue as an account-access problem first—not proof that the account was deleted.
How to get back into an old Roblox account
- Try username or password recovery. Use Roblox’s “Forgot Username or Password” recovery flow with an email address or phone number previously added to the account.
- Contact Roblox Support if recovery does not work. Roblox says users who cannot log in or need help can contact Support. Be prepared to provide information Roblox can use to verify account ownership; recovery is not guaranteed.
Roblox’s documented username-recovery routes require an associated email address or phone number. If you have neither, the recovery article does not describe another route through those options; contact Support for assistance.
Deactivation and deletion are different
Roblox documents two distinct account actions. Deactivation is reversible; deletion is a separate request with permanent consequences.

| Action | What happens | Can you return? |
|---|---|---|
| Deactivation | Disables the account and hides the profile. Some information, such as items listed in the Roblox Marketplace, may remain visible. | Yes. Roblox says you may reactivate by logging in at Roblox.com. |
| Deletion | Requested through account privacy settings; permanently ends access to the account and its content, including Robux. | Roblox describes deletion as permanent, not as a reversible deactivation. |
Roblox’s Terms of Use say the Terms continue to apply while an account is deactivated. They also say Robux do not expire while held in an account, but become invalid if the account is deleted or terminated.
How to request deactivation or deletion
For deletion, Roblox directs users to Privacy Settings, then Account data, deactivation & deletion. Roblox requires a verified email address and may verify your identity before fulfilling the request. If you cannot sign in or need help, use the Roblox Support form. Check that you understand the loss of access to account content and Robux before submitting a deletion request.
