No. Tetris Friends is no longer available as an official playable web or Facebook service. Its website shut down on May 31, 2019; the Facebook version had ended years earlier. Tetris still has current games and play options, but they are separate products—not a return of Tetris Friends.
What happened to Tetris Friends?
Tetris Friends was a browser game published by Tetris Online, Inc. The TetrisWiki history records a Facebook release in August 2008 and the standalone website’s launch on November 22, 2008. The Facebook version was removed on August 31, 2012, in favor of the standalone Tetris Battle app. The website version permanently shut down on May 31, 2019, when Tetris Online, Inc. ceased operations. TetrisWiki’s history of Tetris Friends documents these dates.
The recorded closure is tied to the publisher’s cessation of operations. It should not be attributed to Flash reaching end of life without a source establishing that as the reason.
Can you still play Tetris Friends?
There is no current official Tetris Friends website or Facebook service to play. The original service’s modes and accounts are not offered through the current official Tetris options. The closure date is recorded by TetrisWiki; the available evidence here does not establish a separate official shutdown announcement.

Is there an official replacement?
The official Tetris website promotes other ways to play, including online play and a mobile app, and lists a physical Tetris board game. These are distinct offerings, not a restoration or feature-for-feature successor to Tetris Friends. The site does not establish that Tetris Friends accounts, progress, or modes carry over.
The Tetris Company’s June 5, 2026 announcement describes ongoing franchise activity, including the mobile game Tetris Block Party and the launch of Tetris: The Grand Master 4 on Nintendo Switch, as well as licensed products and partnerships. That activity shows the broader Tetris brand remains active; it does not mean Tetris Friends has returned. The Tetris Company’s news page carries the announcement.
