Not officially. Arrowhead called the Killzone collaboration an “official crossover” and brought Killzone-branded weapons and gear into Helldivers 2, making an in-universe connection plausible. But the announcements do not confirm that the full Killzone setting, history, or characters share Helldivers 2 continuity.
What Arrowhead confirmed about the crossover
In its December 18, 2024 announcement, Arrowhead described the collaboration as Helldivers 2’s “first official crossover” with Killzone 2. The studio said: “We decided a long time ago to do crossovers only if and when they make perfect sense for the game.” That wording shows the collaboration was deliberate, rather than an accidental resemblance or an unofficial cosmetic imitation. It does not say that both franchises share a timeline.

Arrowhead’s December 2024 Steam announcement is the clearest source for how the studio framed the first crossover. “Official crossover” establishes that the companies collaborated; it is not, by itself, a declaration that every event or character in Killzone is canon to Helldivers 2.
What appeared in Helldivers 2
The collaboration was brought back as a Legendary Warbond in a December 11, 2025 PlayStation Blog announcement by Mitchell Ayre, Community Manager at Arrowhead Game Studios. The post named Guerrilla as Arrowhead’s partner and presented the weapons as products of the Stål armory.

- Weapons: StA-52 assault rifle, StA-11 SMG, and PLAS-39 Accelerator rifle.
- Armor and cosmetics: heavy and light armor, capes, player cards, a player title, and Extrasolar Ash patterns for vehicles, pods, and exosuits.
- Armor passive: Acclimated.
These items show that Killzone-associated designs were intentionally incorporated into Helldivers 2’s world and presentation. They support the interpretation that the crossover fits in-universe, but the announcement does not explain how the two settings connect or state that Killzone’s full lore is part of Helldivers 2 canon. Read the December 2025 Warbond announcement for the named content and its announced terms.
Why the shared-universe question remains open
There are two reasonable ways to read the collaboration, but they are not equally certain:

The distinction matters: a franchise can appear in an official crossover without every part of its fictional history becoming shared continuity. The strongest supported answer is therefore that the crossover suggests a connection, not that it proves one.

PlayStation’s February 6, 2024 Helldivers 2 story recap places the sequel a century after the first game and describes Super Earth’s expansion through faster-than-light technology, followed by renewed threats. It does not mention Killzone, Helghan, or a shared chronology, so it provides setting context but does not settle the crossover’s canon status.

That recap quotes Arrowhead game writer Stephen Flowers describing Helldivers 2’s story as driven by its player community. It offers context for the game’s evolving narrative approach, but it is not a statement about Killzone continuity.
Warbond terms announced in December 2025
When Arrowhead announced the Warbond on December 11, 2025, it said it would arrive December 18 for 1,500 Super Credits. Under the announced terms, players who had purchased any prior Killzone item would unlock the Warbond at no extra cost. Players who had only received Killzone items as gifts did not count as purchasers under that rule; those who had missed the earlier store items could unlock the Warbond for the stated price. The post also noted regional limitations and said a Premium Warbond token could not be used to claim it. These are the announcement’s terms, not confirmation of current store availability; check the in-game store for current status. The post says the base game is required.
