You can download Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach for Windows through Steam or the Epic Games Store. The base game is paid; install it through the store where you buy or redeem it. The free Ruin story expansion is additional content, not a free copy of the full game.
Official Windows download options
Use one of the official PC storefronts below. The store page is where you buy or claim the game; the download itself is handled by that store’s launcher and library.
- Steam: Open the Steam listing. Steam lists the game as single-player and supports Steam Achievements and Family Sharing.
- Epic Games Store: Open the Epic listing. Epic’s listing says the Ruin DLC is included with purchase of the base game there.
Both stores identify Steel Wool Studios as the developer and ScottGames as the publisher. The live price can vary by region and promotion. Epic’s listing showed $39.99 USD when crawled; a Steam search result showed a $19.99 sale snapshot against a $39.99 list price, but that sale is time-sensitive. Check each live listing for the price, currency, taxes, and any current discount before buying.

Purchases are associated with the storefront account where they were made; a Steam purchase should not be assumed to transfer to Epic, or vice versa. Choose the library and launcher you intend to keep using.

Is there a free Windows download?
The full base game is presented as a paid title on the official PC storefronts, not as a permanently free Windows download. A sale, gift, or legitimate store redemption may reduce or cover the purchase cost, but an unofficial “free full game” download is not the authorized PC distribution route.
Ruin is a free story expansion associated with Security Breach, not a substitute for the base game. Epic states that it is included with purchase of the base game on that store. Other Five Nights at Freddy’s games are separate products. Avoid torrent, cracked, repack, APK, and unofficial mirror downloads: they can expose you to malware, account theft, copyright problems, or corrupted files. That is a risk, not a claim that every third-party page is malicious.
Windows system requirements
Steam and Epic list the following requirements for Windows. The listings specify Windows 10 64-bit; they do not establish Windows 11 as an official requirement. A PC running Windows 11 may work, but that is not the same as a stated store requirement.

The identical graphics-card entry in both columns is how the store listings state it. Requirements are not a promise of a particular frame rate, resolution, or graphics setting. Leave more than 80 GB free if possible: updates, temporary download data, launcher files, and save backups can require extra room. If you use a laptop, compare its actual GPU, RAM, OS architecture, and free storage with the listed specifications; a discrete GTX 1050 Ti is the stated GPU, so integrated graphics may fall short.
Install through Steam
- Open the official Steam listing and sign in to the account that should own the game, or create a Steam account.
- Purchase the game if it is not already in your account.
- Install and open the Steam client, then select Library.
- Select Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach and choose Install.
- Select an installation drive with sufficient free space and confirm. Wait for the download and installation to complete, then select Play.
Store buttons and layouts can change, so labels may differ slightly. An internet connection is ordinarily needed to purchase, authenticate, and download. Do not assume that offline play will always work; it can depend on launcher settings and account authentication.
Install through Epic Games Store
- Open the official Epic listing and sign in to the Epic account that should own the game.
- Purchase the game if necessary.
- Install and open the Epic Games Launcher, then open Library.
- Select Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, choose Install, and select an installation location.
- Wait for installation to finish, then launch the game from your Epic library.
Epic’s listing identifies the PC platform as Windows and states that Ruin is included with purchase of the base game on Epic. As with Steam, an internet connection is ordinarily required to purchase, authenticate, and download through the store.

Compare live prices rather than relying on an old sale snapshot, and consider where you want ownership and support handled. DLC entitlement and account libraries are store-specific; confirm the relevant listing and account before purchase.

- Install or download button is missing: Sign in to the account that owns the game and open its Library. The game may not be owned, or you may be viewing the store page without the relevant launcher.
- Purchased game is not in the Library: Check the account’s purchase history and transaction status. If it still does not appear, contact the store where you bought it.
- Download stops or installation fails: Check the launcher’s download queue, confirm there is more than the listed 80 GB free, restart the launcher, and retry. Review permissions or security software if the failure continues.
- Files appear damaged or missing: Use Steam’s installed-game file verification, or open the game’s options in Epic Library and choose a verification or repair option if shown. This can replace missing or altered files but will not fix every hardware, driver, permissions, or OS problem.
- The game crashes or performs poorly: Update Windows and graphics drivers, close background applications, and try lower graphics settings. Compare the PC’s actual hardware with the requirements; the listings do not guarantee a fixed performance level.
- Mods or overlays are installed: Test a clean, unmodified game first. Mods, injectors, reshade tools, and overlays can interfere with launching or troubleshooting. Steam community announcements have advised removing installed mods and validating files in relevant cases: Steam announcements.
- Ruin does not appear: Check the game’s DLC or manage-content screen and confirm you are signed into the same store account that owns the base game. Contact that store about an entitlement issue.
For Steam technical help, use Steam Support for this game. For Epic purchases or launcher problems, use Epic Support; game-specific technical issues may also need the developer’s support route. Do not replace missing game files with an executable from an unofficial download site.

Epic’s refund policy generally allows eligible PC and Mac products to be refunded within 14 days and with less than two hours of runtime, if the product is marked refundable or self-refundable and other policy conditions are met. Epic provides refund instructions.
Product classification and policy exceptions matter; DLC, consumables, gifts, bans, and abuse-prevention rules can receive different treatment. Store policies can change, so check the live terms before purchase. A refund window is not a substitute for checking your hardware and available space first.
