To complete In Memoriam in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, investigate three murders in Dock Town: collect two clues at Razikale Walk, two at Andraste’s Watch, and three at Urthemiel Venue. The quest starts at the corpse on the Razikale Walk bridge after you reach the main quest Signs and Portents.
How to start In Memoriam
- After reaching Signs and Portents, return to Dock Town and go to the bridge in Razikale Walk.
- Interact with the corpse to trigger an ambush. Defeat the demons, then speak with the Spirit of Compassion to begin the quest.
Investigate the Razikale Walk murder
- From the corpse, head north and pick up the Page Torn From a Journal on the stairs to the left.
- Enter the nearby hut and collect Hortensia’s Garden Journal. These two clues complete the bridge investigation.
Investigate the Andraste’s Watch murder
- Go to Andraste’s Watch and interact with the corpse on the wooden platform. Defeat the demons that appear.
- Follow the blood splashes. Pick up the Unmarked Journal from a box in the corner, then collect Property of Marcus, Scholar from the table in the middle of the area.
Combat tip for Remorse
Gamer Guides identifies Remorse as the more demanding enemy in this encounter. Its walkthrough recommends bow shots at range to bring down Remorse’s shield, followed by combo attacks; it also reports that the enemy is vulnerable to fire, making fire-based abilities useful if available. Gamer Guides’ walkthrough was last updated February 3, 2025.
Investigate the Urthemiel Venue murder
- Travel to Urthemiel Venue on the eastern side of the map and clear the enemies.
- Follow the blood trail down the slope and collect the Charcoal Drawing of the Market beside the ladder.
- Climb the ladder and collect the Charcoal Drawing of Dock Town and the Charcoal Drawing of a Rooftop. Collecting all three drawings completes the final investigation and closes the quest.
In Memoriam rewards
Gamer Guides lists the following rewards for completing all three investigations:
- 5 Fade-Touched Crystals
- 100 Shadow Dragons Strength
- 200 Gold
Game8’s guide, last updated November 25, 2024, also lists 500 XP and increased bond with current companions. Because the two guides do not enumerate the rewards identically, treat those additional rewards as Game8-reported rather than assuming both guides confirm them.
