Defeat Xenlon, then choose the blank entry in the post-battle wish list. That wish unlocks the Temple of Trials and opens a glowing portal north of Aliahan; fly there with Ramia.
How to unlock the Temple of Trials
- Reach the postgame. Finish the main story and progress through the postgame content that leads to Xenlon. The Temple of Trials is a postgame bonus dungeon, and Xenlon is its unlock gate. Game reference: Temple of Trials
- Defeat Xenlon. The wish menu becomes available after the battle. A GameFAQs walkthrough says its described wish list appears when Xenlon is defeated within 35 turns, but that condition is not confirmed by the official sources cited here. GameFAQs walkthrough
- Choose the blank wish. Select the empty entry rather than one of the named rewards. This is the wish that unlocks the Temple of Trials. Game reference: Temple of Trials
- Fly to the portal. Use Ramia to reach the glowing portal high in the sky north of Aliahan. Game reference: Temple of Trials
What to expect inside
The way upward is blocked until you complete the five chamber trials and light the five pedestals arranged around Ramia’s plinth. Game reference: Temple of Trials
Temple changes in the May 2025 update
Square Enix’s official update notice, last updated May 23, 2025, changes the guard’s Elfin Elixir hand-in requirement to 10 and adds a chest containing one more Gringham Whip. The notice states: “In the Temple of Trials, the number of Elfin Elixirs required to be handed over to the guard has been changed to 10.” Square Enix update notice
