How to reach the Sphinx at the Mountain Shrine
The Sphinx gives A Game of Wits at the Mountain Shrine. Guides describe approaching through the Ancient Battleground and Worldsend Cavern, then following the Shrine Corridor; another route passes through the Misty Marshes. These areas contain dangerous enemies, so the shrine is not a safe or immediate walk-up. See the route guidance from PowerPyx and Push Square.
Answer each riddle by presenting the requested item or person, or completing its task. Treat every answer as a one-chance decision: the guides differ on whether a wrong answer makes the Sphinx leave or only forfeits that riddle’s reward, but both warn that you cannot retry that answer. The practical risk is losing the individual reward, not necessarily ending the entire quest.
Mountain Shrine: the first five riddles

Prepare for the move
After the first five riddles, the Sphinx relocates to the Frontier Shrine. GINX says you can grab onto her as she departs to ride along; Push Square suggests moving a Portcrystal near the Mountain Shrine if you placed one there. These are alternatives for reducing the return trip, not requirements.

Frontier Shrine: Reunion and the remaining riddles
Finding the Sphinx at the Frontier Shrine automatically completes Reunion, which GINX reports rewards 100,000 Gold. Four more riddles follow in a randomized order, so use their names to identify the prompt rather than expecting the same sequence each visit. GINX TV’s walkthrough.

How to use the Unmaking Arrow and get the final reward
After completing the riddles, the Sphinx can be fought for the final chest and an Eternal Wakestone. One strategy uses the Unmaking Arrow, a single-use item. Push Square reports that firing it causes an immediate autosave, so missing the shot can be costly; save the arrow for this encounter if you plan to use it. A bow-using vocation is needed for that approach, and the Sphinx’s key glows purple when the shot opportunity approaches. Push Square also describes a harder method that avoids damaging the Sphinx’s head and chest.

The Eternal Wakestone is a consumable that can revive multiple nearby characters at once; it is not an endlessly reusable item. Push Square says another can be obtained on each New Game+ run.
