In Dragon’s Dogma 2, a Pawn Quest is a task assigned to your Main Pawn for an Arisen who hires it to complete beyond the Rift. You set the task and choose a reward at a Riftstone; the hiring player receives that reward when they complete the quest, and you pay for it with an item from your inventory or gold from your funds.
How Pawn Quests work
A Pawn Quest is attached to your Main Pawn. Its purpose is to offer another Arisen a task to complete while using your pawn, with a reward you choose. Capcom’s Official Web Manual describes ordinary task objectives as well as item-retrieval requests, which can be used to trade with another Arisen.
The reward is paid by the pawn’s owner, not generated by completing the quest. If you choose an item, it is removed from your inventory; if you choose gold, that amount is deducted from your funds. The hiring Arisen receives the selected reward after completing the task, so choose only what you can afford to give up.
How to set a Pawn Quest
- Visit a Riftstone and choose the option to set a Pawn Quest.
- Select the objective. You can choose a task or request that the other Arisen retrieve an item.
- Choose the reward: a specific item or a sum of gold. The item or gold comes from your own inventory or funds.
- Another player who hires your Main Pawn can complete the task and receive the reward. To check the pawn’s current quest, open the Pause Menu, go to Status, then select Pawn.
Pawn Quests versus quest-knowledge markers
These are separate systems. A Pawn Quest is a task you set for another player to complete while using your Main Pawn. Quest-knowledge markers in the quest list indicate which hired pawn may be able to guide you or share useful information about a quest. When your Pawn Quest appears to other players
Capcom says your pawn’s information can be uploaded by resting at an inn while connected to the network. It may take time for the information to appear, so do not expect an immediate refresh. Pawn hiring is limited to players on the same platform; the FAQ does not promise cross-platform hiring.
