Where does Drakestone of the Blood Prophet drop?

Dungeon drops
Run the Temple of Atal’Hakkar and defeat Hazzas or Morphaz for a chance at the off-hand. The item reference confirms these as sources, but does not establish a drop rate.
Reported vendor route
A Wowhead report published July 23, 2024 described Pix Xizzix in Booty Bay (28.4, 75.8) selling Sunken Temple off-hand items for Tarnished Undermine Real. Warcraft Tavern’s currency guide lists Drakestone of the Blood Prophet at 50 Tarnished Undermine Real, but that is a secondary guide figure, not confirmation of a current price. Vendor availability and cost can change; check Pix Xizzix in game before planning around this option.

Is Drakestone of the Blood Prophet good for Warlock?
It can be a strong choice in the specific Phase 3 Warlock contexts covered by Wowhead’s guides, rather than a universal best-in-slot item across every class, phase, or version of the game.
Warlock DPS
The Phase 3 Warlock DPS gear guide lists Drakestone of the Blood Prophet alongside Drakestone of the Nightmare Harbinger as a best-in-slot off-hand choice. It also names Enthralled Sphere as a possible alternative and Spirit of Aquementas as a non-RNG alternative.

Warlock tank
The Phase 3 Warlock tank guide identifies Drakestone of the Blood Prophet as its best option for threat generation, while listing Totem of Infliction as a mitigation-oriented choice. Threat and mitigation are different goals: prioritize the item that serves the job your group needs and compare the alternatives’ stats and acquisition routes.

How should you choose between it and an alternative?
- Match the role: use the cited DPS or tank guide only if its build and phase fit your character; for a tank, distinguish threat generation from mitigation.
- Compare the item effects: weigh Drakestone’s healing and spell-damage bonuses against the actual stats of the alternative you can equip.
- Consider how you can obtain it: the dungeon route depends on a drop, while the vendor route was reported historically and should be verified in game.
- Check the guide’s context: Phase 3 recommendations are dated guide judgments, not assurances about later phases or current balance.
