DroidDeck 0.3.0, dated October 2, 2026, adds Steam Deck-style controller integration for Android Steam sessions and an optional route to LSFG frame generation. It presents a handheld’s controls to Steam as a Steam Deck controller, while LSFG depends on having your own copy of Lossless Scaling. The project’s requirements are specific, but it warns that device compatibility and performance vary and that hardware validation is limited.
What Steam Deck-style controls mean in DroidDeck
In a Steam session, DroidDeck reads the handheld’s built-in controls as a Steam Deck controller. The release notes describe several parts of that integration:
- Quick Access: the controller presentation includes a Quick Access button.
- Gyro: the device’s gyroscope is included.
- Steam Input: games receive virtual pads, so Steam Input layouts can be applied.
- Dual-screen controls: on dual-screen handhelds, the second screen can provide Deck-style back grips and trackpads.
These are features described by the project, not a guarantee that every game or handheld will behave identically.
How LSFG frame generation works here
DroidDeck 0.3.0 adds an optional LSFG route that obtains Lossless Scaling from the user’s Steam library. The release notes list 60, 90 and 120 fps targets and say generation is paced to the game’s frames. Those target options do not establish a frame-rate guarantee for a particular device or game.

The Droid-Deck project README credits Camille LaVey and the Eden emulator project, following lsfg-vk, and says the work was ported to WinNative and DroidDeck by @maxjivi05. DroidDeck requires the user’s own copy of Lossless Scaling and ships none of its shaders. Read the project README for its attribution and dependency details.
Which Android devices does DroidDeck support?
The README’s stated baseline is Android 9 or newer and a supported Qualcomm Adreno GPU: Adreno 730 or newer, or Adreno 8xx. Root access is not required. The project labels Adreno 6xx experimental and lists Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR and Adreno 710 as unsupported.

This is a hardware class guide, not a list of tested handheld models or a broad compatibility guarantee. DroidDeck says compatibility and performance vary and that hardware validation is limited. Check the current official requirements before installing, since support details can change.
Install and launch
The project estimates storage use at about 3 GB for the runtime, plus 1.1 GB for the desktop and emulators. Its documented setup sequence is:

- Download and install the APK from the project’s official download page.
- Install the Linux runtime from within DroidDeck.
- Press Play and sign in. Steam downloads on the first launch.
What changed beyond controls
The project reports that Steam startup fell from about 31 seconds to about 6 seconds in version 0.3.0. That is an approximate DroidDeck-reported comparison from 2026; the release notes do not state the test device, method or an independent benchmark, so it should not be treated as a universal startup time. The changelog also says Offline mode works. See the official release notes for the version’s change list.

Who should consider the update?
- If you want Steam Input layouts, gyro, Quick Access and Deck-style controls on an Android handheld, these are the central changes in 0.3.0.
- If you want LSFG, you need your own Lossless Scaling copy; DroidDeck does not include it or its shaders.
- If your device is outside the stated Android and Adreno baseline, the README does not establish support. Treat experimental hardware as uncertain rather than assuming it will work.
