Yes. Sony’s PlayStation Accessories app for Windows lets you create and edit DualSense Edge profiles on a PC, then save them to the controller. You can assign up to three custom profiles alongside the default profile and switch among them with controller shortcuts. Sony’s current support pages confirm the feature, but do not establish when it launched.
What you need to edit profiles on a PC
- A DualSense Edge wireless controller.
- A Windows 10 PC (64-bit) or Windows 11 PC, as listed by Sony’s compatibility guide.
- The PlayStation Accessories app for Windows, which Sony describes on its PC accessories page.
- A USB Type-C or Bluetooth connection. Starting with the included USB cable is the simplest way to connect and test the controller.
Bluetooth can carry controller input, but Sony says haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on PC may require USB and depend on game support. A controller profile can be configured in the app; whether a game uses particular effects is a separate matter. See Sony’s DualSense Edge feature notes.
Create or edit a profile in PlayStation Accessories
Create a profile
- Connect the DualSense Edge to your Windows PC and open PlayStation Accessories.
- Select Create Profile, or select a profile slot marked Not Assigned. If more than one controller is connected, choose the DualSense Edge you want to configure.
- Enter a name, select Next, choose a shortcut, then select Create Profile.
- Choose a setting to customize. After changing it, select Apply; select Done when you have finished.
Edit an existing custom profile
- With the controller connected, open PlayStation Accessories and select the profile.
- Select Edit, change the settings you want, and select Apply after each change.
- Select Done when finished.
Important: Sony warns that a change is not saved if you leave its screen without selecting Apply. The default profile cannot be edited or deleted; choose a custom profile to change instead. These steps and limits are in Sony’s PC setup guide.

The app’s profile settings include button assignments, stick response, trigger activation ranges, and feedback intensity. These are software settings; changing a physical part of the controller is separate.

The Edge also has physical options, including replaceable stick caps, back-button attachments, and trigger-stop sliders. These are not profile settings in the PC app. Sony notes that using the medium or short trigger-stop positions disables trigger effects, so shorter trigger travel and adaptive resistance cannot be used together. How many profiles the controller stores—and where
The controller holds four profiles in total: the default profile and up to three custom profiles. Sony says profiles are saved on the controller, so you can use them with that same controller on another compatible computer or mobile device. This is on-controller storage, not cloud synchronization; the app instructions for editing are for Windows.

Switch profiles with the controller
After assigning shortcuts, hold the Fn button and press the corresponding face button. The default profile is always assigned to Fn + Triangle; that shortcut cannot be changed. The other face buttons can be assigned to custom profiles.

The controller gives feedback when the profile changes; whether that feedback is vibration or light depends on the controller settings. You do not need to keep the app open for ordinary profile switching.

Other controller settings and firmware
PlayStation Accessories also provides controller-level options such as profile-switch feedback, player-indicator and light-bar brightness, a controller-interface tour, and a factory reset. Treat reset as a last resort: Sony says it deletes all profiles, resets settings, and returns the controller to factory defaults.
To check or update firmware, connect the controller, select its firmware option in the app, check the displayed version, and select Update if one is available. Keep the PC powered on and do not disconnect the controller during the update. Sony says to update multiple controllers one at a time; its guide does not provide a version number that should be treated as current for every reader.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The controller does not appear: Connect it with USB, then check that the correct controller is selected if multiple controllers are connected.
- Your setting changes disappeared: Reopen the custom profile and apply each change before leaving its settings screen.
- Haptics or trigger effects are missing: Try USB and check whether the game supports those effects on PC. Bluetooth input working does not guarantee that advanced effects will work.
- A profile is unavailable on another device: Confirm you are using the same controller. Profiles are stored on the controller, not synced through an account.
- You are considering a reset: It deletes saved profiles as well as restoring controller settings, so use it only if you are prepared to configure profiles again.
Is this useful if you play on PC?
For current DualSense Edge owners, PC profile editing means you can configure the controller without using a PS5 and carry those saved profiles with the controller. It is especially useful if you switch between layouts for different games or devices. It is not a reason every PC player needs to buy an Edge: if you only need basic per-game remapping, a game’s own settings may be enough. Sony also documents profile customization through its PlayStation Accessories support pages for users who prefer to configure the controller on PS5.
