For reliable character progression in Dune: Awakening, keep one Journey and one Contract active and complete their objectives. In single-player, you can also adjust XP multipliers in the game’s customization settings; on a shared server, focus on the objectives available to you rather than relying on an unverified “fastest farm.”
Use Journeys and Contracts as your progression route
Funcom says in-game progression comes from completing Journeys and Contracts. Journeys are story-driven objectives, while Contracts are usually available from Tradepost boards. The official guidance does not provide XP-per-activity or XP-per-hour figures, so it does not support a precise ranking of activities by speed.

Keep both objective slots working
The Journey Menu lets you track one Journey and one Contract at the same time. Their current objectives appear on the compass, helping you combine tasks and avoid unnecessary travel. When choosing what to do next, check how far each objective takes you and whether you can make progress on both in the same area.
Recover a blocked Contract
If a Contract appears stuck, return to the previous or original NPC and look for a “Contact Issuer” step. If that does not resolve it, abandon the Contract and take it again from its board.

Collect rewards even when inventory is full
Completed rewards are added to inventory automatically. If your inventory is full, redeem the rewards from the Journey Menu.

Choose the right target: character level or specialization
Character XP and specialization progression are different goals. The current specialization system has five tracks: Crafting, Gathering, Exploration, Combat, and Sabotage. Traits can affect areas such as damage, durability, inventory space, mission rewards, and unlocks including Augmentation. If you want a particular build benefit, pursue the relevant specialization rather than assuming general character XP will grant it.
Adjust XP multipliers in single-player
In single-player, inspect the gameplay customization settings for XP multipliers. Funcom’s September 22, 2026 overview says players can control XP multipliers and other conditions, but it does not list the available multiplier values or defaults. Check the settings shown in your own game instead of relying on a specific number from an older guide.

What Landsraad progression does—and does not—tell you about leveling
The current Landsraad is a mission-based parallel progression system, not a confirmed character-XP shortcut. Xbox Wire’s September 22, 2026 overview describes 20 Landsraad ranks, seven new mission locations, and six Imperial Testing Stations. Those figures describe content in the update; the overview does not report their XP rewards or show that they are the fastest route to character levels.

Why exact “fastest farm” claims are hard to verify
No reliable XP rates, level-up times, or best-activity comparison are established in the sources cited here. A third-party XP-table index identifies itself as version 1.5.3.6 and says it was updated October 6, 2026, but the captured index does not expose the table values. Treat exact XP-per-hour claims and community anecdotes as unverified unless they include current, comparable in-game measurements.
