Combine the Ace through Eight of Dunes to create the Dunes Deck, then use it to start the Darkmoon Dunes Deck quest. Turn the quest in to Professor Thaddeus Paleo at the Darkmoon Faire for Darkmoon Card: Sandstorm, 390 XP and 150 Darkmoon Faire reputation.
How to make the Dunes Deck
- Collect the Ace, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight of Dunes.
- Combine all eight cards to form the Dunes Deck.
- Use the completed deck to start the Darkmoon Dunes Deck quest.
The Dunes Deck was added to WoW Classic: Season of Discovery in patch 1.15.2 on April 2, 2024. Warcraft Wiki’s Dunes Deck reference identifies the deck and its component cards.
Where to get the Dunes cards
According to Wowhead’s WoW Classic Darkmoon Faire guide, cards Two through Eight can drop randomly from level 40–60 Undead and Humanoids in the open world, as well as from Uldaman, Zul’Farrak, Blackrock Depths and the Season of Discovery Sunken Temple raid. The guide also describes a Shadowtooth Bag route: buy a bag for 10 Wild Offering after completing the Wild Gods questline. The bag provides a random card, so it is not a guaranteed way to get a particular Dunes card.
The cards can be traded or sold before you assemble the deck, so buying or trading is another option alongside collecting random drops. The guide does not establish current drop rates, farming times or auction-house prices, so there is no supported basis to call one route the fastest or cheapest.

How to turn in the quest
Using the assembled deck starts the Darkmoon Dunes Deck quest. Take it to Professor Thaddeus Paleo at the Darkmoon Faire and turn it in. The quest entry lists the rewards as Darkmoon Card: Sandstorm, 390 XP and 150 Darkmoon Faire reputation.
The Faire’s current location and dates can change. Check the in-game calendar or current official announcements before traveling; an older guide’s description of an alternating schedule should not be treated as a current timetable.

What Darkmoon Card: Sandstorm does
Darkmoon Card: Sandstorm is a trinket with a level-50 requirement. Its listed effect gives spells and attacks a chance to summon a sandstorm that circles your character and deals 50–100 Nature damage to targets it passes through. The item reference records several 2024 hotfixes to its behavior, so the exact live behavior may depend on the current game version. See the Darkmoon Card: Sandstorm reference for the item details.
Season of Discovery is a distinct WoW Classic mode, not a physical card game: the Dunes cards, deck, quest and reward are in-game content. Blizzard’s Season of Discovery launch announcement introduced the mode as featuring class-altering abilities, new endgame activities and Rune Engraving. That announcement describes the launch context; it does not establish current game status.
