The “next hotfix” Techland described in September 2025 is no longer upcoming: the studio has since published later updates, including Update 1.7 in September 2026. The 2025 notice outlined work on stuttering, FPS drops and PC Frame Generation, while Update 1.7 lists separate fixes for PS5 boss-fight FPS spikes, Settings-menu stuttering and screen tearing on RTX 40-series GPUs. Techland has not published benchmark figures showing how much performance improved.
What Techland said the September 2025 hotfix would address
In a notice dated September 26, 2025, Techland said it was testing a hotfix with four areas of work. For performance, the studio described “ongoing improvements to reduce stuttering & FPS drops” and work on PC Frame Generation “stability and consistency under heavy load.” The same notice also listed fixes for four quest progression issues and zombie-grab balance tweaks. Techland said most of the fixes were deep in testing and that full patch notes would follow once the update was live. What later official notes say about performance
Update 1.7’s technical notes identify three specific issues: FPS spikes during boss fights on PS5, occasional stuttering in the Settings menu, and screen tearing when Ray Tracing and Frame Generation are used together on RTX 40-series GPUs. Is another performance hotfix currently announced?
The September 2025 announcement should not be read as a current promise of an upcoming patch. Techland’s update listing records Hotfix 1.6.1 on April 2, Hotfix 1.6.2 on April 13 and Hotfix 1.6.3 on April 23, 2026; the support page identifies Update 1.7 as released in September 2026.
