The Donyell Malen Serie A Player of the Month item is earned through a single score-based SBC, not a conventional squad challenge: contribute eligible items until you reach a reported 90,000 score, with a reported minimum item rating of 45. There is no universally cheapest combination because your club inventory and current fodder prices determine the best route.
What the Malen POTM SBC requires
FUT.GG and FUT Mind list one challenge with a 90,000 score target and a 45 minimum rating. FUT Mind also says positions and chemistry do not matter. These are tracker-reported details rather than an official EA challenge listing, so check the live SBC screen before submitting items. (FUT.GG; FUT Mind)
That format matches EA’s published Streamlined SBC system: eligible club items contribute toward a target score, and score depends on item rating and rarity. EA says progress can be submitted across multiple attempts and duplicate versions can count. Check the in-game score display as you build rather than assuming that a particular rating mix will reach the target. (EA FC 27 news)
How to build toward 90,000 score without overspending
- Check your club first. Review eligible untradeable items and duplicates, then use those before buying fodder you may already own.
- Plan against the score, not a fixed squad recipe. Use the SBC’s in-game score display or a current score calculator to see how your available items contribute.
- Compare purchase cost with score gained. Before submitting tradeable items or buying replacements, check current market prices; a high-rated item is not automatically the best value for its score contribution.
- Submit in stages if useful. EA’s Streamlined SBC description allows progress over multiple attempts. Recheck the remaining score after each submission.
- Verify the final total and timer in-game. Confirm the displayed score meets the target and use the live SBC screen for the definitive cutoff.
Published examples illustrate why a fixed “cheapest solution” can mislead. An Italian guide reports these combinations and approximate costs, but they are market snapshots rather than guaranteed recipes:

When does the SBC expire?
Trackers agree on 29 October 2026 but disagree on the cutoff time: FCData lists 13:00, while FUT Mind lists 14:00 UTC. Because the hour is inconsistent, rely on the timer shown on the SBC in-game rather than either tracker’s time. (FCData; FUT Mind)
