The clearest public wording comes from EA Forums threads about FC 24 Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). The phrases that recur are “Failed to Submit Challenge,” reported in the Companion and Web App context, and “can’t submit SBC.” One thread dated 26 January 2024, visible in search results, describes a user who could not submit an SBC through the Companion App. We could not open the full threads, so we cannot see whether any of them reached an accepted solution or a response from EA staff.

EA’s FC 24 support hub, as checked in October 2026, links to two relevant guides: “How to get started with Ultimate Team Squad Building Challenges” and “How to troubleshoot EA SPORTS FC connection issues.” It also provides a route to customer support. The hub does not describe a Companion App submission defect, so it is useful for general guidance and for reaching support, not for confirming the cause of this error.

The missing-items guidance
EA’s article “How to find missing EA SPORTS FC Items and Packs” is aimed at missing items, not failed submissions. It suggests restarting Ultimate Team and checking EA’s FC Direct Communication channels for issues affecting items, along with the Club, Store, and Transfer Targets where relevant. Those are reasonable general checks when something seems to be missing or stuck, but EA does not present them as a fix for a submission error.
What forum responses have suggested
Search results for the EA Forums thread titled “Failed to Submit Challenge” include a suggestion to try the same submission through the game, the UT Web App, or the Companion App. This is community or forum guidance. It is not documented as an official EA fix, and it may not work for every account, but it is a low-cost way to tell whether the problem is limited to one app.

Check your squad before every attempt
EA states that items submitted to an SBC are permanently removed from your Club, and that EA Advisors cannot restore them. Before you submit, or before you retry after an error, open your squad and confirm that the players you intend to use are the ones in the challenge, and that you are not about to lose cards you need elsewhere. If a submission appears to have gone through but the reward did not arrive, use the missing-items guidance above and contact support rather than resubmitting.
Troubleshooting order
- Record the exact error. Write down the message wording, whether it appears on one SBC or several, and the platform you are using. This makes it easier to describe the problem to support and to tell whether the issue is isolated.
- Check your connection. If the failure appears alongside other connection trouble, follow EA’s “How to troubleshoot EA SPORTS FC connection issues” guide from the FC 24 support hub.
- Try the same submission elsewhere. If you can, attempt it through the game or the UT Web App. If it succeeds on one of those, the problem is probably tied to the Companion App, though that is an inference rather than an EA-confirmed result.
- Restart Ultimate Team. Then check EA’s FC Direct Communication channels for any reported service or content problem. This is a general check drawn from EA’s missing-items guidance, not a confirmed fix for this symptom.
- Retry once, then contact EA. If the error persists, contact EA through the FC 24 support hub. Include your platform, the date and time of the failed attempt with your time zone, and the exact error text.
What is not established
Several explanations circulate in unofficial videos and posts, including a “shadow ban,” a cooldown period, and cache-clearing steps. None of these was verified against EA’s official documentation, so we do not recommend acting on them as established fixes, and we cannot state how long any restriction would last or whether clearing data would help. Likewise, the sources reviewed do not indicate how many accounts are affected or whether the problem is still occurring in FC 24 today.

FC 24 was released in 2023, and EA has since moved to newer titles. If you are playing a later game, the reports above may not apply, and you should check that game’s own support pages.
Because the available evidence is limited, the most dependable outcome for most players is to confirm the squad, try the submission on another app if possible, and report the problem to EA support with specific details.
