EA’s June 24, 2025 announcement added a College Football 25 team-import option, broader roster and program editing, more stadium choices, and new recruiting-pipeline and rivalry controls to College Football 26 Team Builder. EA also said the redesigned site left Beta, ran “2X faster,” and replaced its 10-image limit with a 5 MB upload allowance per team. The speed figure is EA’s claim, not an independent benchmark.
What changed in College Football 26 Team Builder?
EA presented the update as the next stage of a multi-year plan for Team Builder. The feature moved out of Beta, gained a redesigned site and performance improvements, and offered more ways to shape a custom program. EA said improved rendering would support a wider range of devices and lower-end machines.

The development team described the direction this way: “Team Builder is part of a multi-year vision for us — one where we continue to expand and deepen the experience over time.” The team added, “Last year was about laying the foundation.”
Import a College Football 25 team
Instead of rebuilding a previous creation from scratch, users could choose the import option, select College Football 25, and review their existing teams. EA said users should check any flagged assets or details that did not carry over, make adjustments, then submit the updated creation for College Football 26.

Choose a program identity
The Program tab added templates and starting grades, with examples including Powerhouse, Pro Factory, and Cupcake. A team’s resulting grades can depend on factors such as its stadium, the Dynasty team it replaces, coach setup, and conference placement, so a template is a starting point rather than a guarantee of a particular final grade.
Edit more of the roster
A dedicated Roster tab expanded player customization and displayed team overall, offensive, and defensive ratings. While editing an individual, users could also see that player’s overall rating.
- Bio: Edit first and last name, previous redshirt, high-school star rating, and dealbreaker fields.
- Skill Ratings & Abilities: Set player archetype, development trait, player potential, and tiered physical and mental abilities.
Customize stadiums, pipelines, and rivalries
EA added three generic stadiums, described as small to medium in size and without team branding, plus a high-school stadium. Users could also edit recruiting pipelines by choosing an influence location and strength.

Team Builder allowed up to five rivalries. Each could include a team, rivalry name, first year, all-time record, most recent winner, and most recent score; EA said historical details carry into Dynasty.

How did Team Builder’s assets and site change?
College Football 26 Team Builder replaced the previous limit of 10 custom images with a combined 5 MB upload limit per team. Users could upload images and textures until reaching that team-level cap.
EA described the redesigned site as “2X faster” and said its rendering improvements would make it work across more devices, including lower-end machines. That is EA’s stated performance claim; the announcement did not provide an independent measurement.

How to access Team Builder now
EA Help’s current general instructions say to use a desktop browser on a traditional operating system such as Windows or macOS. Phones, tablets, and Chromebooks are not supported. An EA Account and internet connection are required; a console or service account may also be needed.
- Open Team Builder in a supported desktop browser and choose an existing team or create one.
- Edit the available Brand, Uniforms, Stadium, Program, and Roster tabs.
- Save and submit the team.
- Import the submitted team into Play Now, Dynasty, or Road to Glory.
EA Help’s current page references College Football 27, so it is useful for the general access and submission workflow, not as a record of the College Football 26 launch interface.
