Inspect the live card before allocating points
- Confirm the role and position. Use the positions and playing style shown on the card, not assumptions based on the player’s real-world reputation. Decide whether you want the card to serve as a striker, supporting forward, central midfielder or defensive midfielder only if its available positions support that role.
- Choose a priority that matches the role. For a striker, assess finishing and offensive awareness. For a linking role, consider ball control, passing, physical contact and stamina. For a deeper role, assess defensive engagement, tackling and passing. These are evaluation criteria, not confirmed ratings for this trio.
- Decide whether to optimize the role or Overall Rating. Konami says Automatic Development maximizes Overall Rating, while manual allocation lets you customize a player’s stats. A higher displayed Overall Rating is not necessarily the better fit for a particular position or tactic.

Start with any existing skills shown on the card, then look at the current Skill Training pool and choose additions that address the role you intend to use. Confirm the result on the live card rather than assuming all players can receive the same skills or that a familiar recommendation remains available in the current version.
