Bandai Namco’s first ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN patch, version 1.01, warned on May 29, 2025, that some PC configurations using the latest graphics cards might experience frame rate drops. The publisher said it was investigating the cause; the notice did not say every PC was affected or confirm a fix.
What the version 1.01 notice said
Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. published the warning in its May 29, 2025 version 1.01 announcement, which it identified as the game’s first patch. The listed platforms were PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

In the PC troubleshooting section, the publisher wrote: “We have confirmed that some PC configurations using the latest graphics cards may experience frame rate drops.” It said the cause was under investigation. The notice did not identify specific graphics-card models or report a measured frame rate, percentage, or number of affected systems.
What PC players were advised to try
For significant frame rate drops, Bandai Namco suggested these steps:

- Change the graphics preset from the default High setting to Medium or Low.
- Lower the screen resolution.
- Install the latest graphics-card drivers.
These were the publisher’s suggested adjustments, not guaranteed remedies or confirmed fixes. The same notice separately said that some failures to start the game might sometimes be addressed by verifying the game files through Steam’s Installed Files settings; that advice concerned startup failures, not frame rate drops.
What the first patch covered
The announcement said version 1.01 aimed to improve gameplay and stability. Its listed content included playable-character handling, soundtrack additions and adjustments, text adjustments, balance adjustments, character scenarios, and bug fixes. The performance warning appeared alongside those patch notes as a PC troubleshooting item.

Does the warning describe the game’s current PC performance?
No current status can be established from the May 29, 2025 notice alone. It records what Bandai Namco reported and recommended at that time; it does not confirm whether a later update resolved the issue or describe performance on any particular PC configuration.
