To reach the Ruins of Unte, take Shadow Keep’s hidden route to the Castle Watering Hole, then travel to the ruins. A dormant Furnace Golem blocks the main entrance: throw a Hefty Furnace Pot into its head basket from a nearby raised structure to wake it and clear the doorway. You can enter without killing it, or use Torrent to jump over the broken rear wall instead.
How to reach the Ruins of Unte
One documented route starts at the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace in Shadow Keep. Follow these landmarks:
- Head toward the eastern side of the plaza and find the ladder route. If the eastern door is blocked on your first visit, the route guide notes that you may need to approach from the west.
- Descend by ladder through the waterfall area; do not drop straight down, which the guide warns can be fatal.
- Continue through the underground passage to a room with a painting. Strike the concealed wall on the right.
- Follow the newly revealed passage to a stone coffin and interact with it to reach the Castle Watering Hole.
- Go outside and travel toward the Ruins of Unte.

How to open the blocked entrance
A dormant Furnace Golem lies across the main doorway. To move it, get onto a nearby raised structure overlooking the Golem and throw a Hefty Furnace Pot into the open basket on its head. Landing the pot in the basket wakes the Golem; it stands and moves away from the entrance. You do not need to defeat it to go inside.

Fextralife’s Ruins of Unte reference identifies Greater Potentate’s Cookbook [2] as the recipe source for Hefty Furnace Pots. You will also need the crafting materials, if you plan to use this method.
Alternative: jump over the rear wall
If you do not have a Hefty Furnace Pot ready, a guide describes circling around to the broken rear wall and using Torrent to jump over it. This avoids the blocked front entrance; the guide does not state any preparation requirements for this route. The two options are:

Do you have to fight the Furnace Golem?
No. Awakening it is enough to get past the main entrance, and the rear-wall jump also provides a way inside without using the pot method. Defeating the Golem is optional; the location and Golem guides list the Bloodsucking Cracked Tear as its reward.
