This ranking covers the weapon rewards from Shadow of the Erdtree Remembrances—not every Remembrance weapon in the base game and expansion. The available verified inventory establishes the DLC exchanges, but not a complete base-game weapon list, so calling this a ranking of every Elden Ring Remembrance weapon would be misleading. The order below is a qualitative PvE guide based on the documented weapon categories, requirements and distinctive effects, not a tested damage ranking or a claim about the current patch meta.
How to read this ranking
Remembrance exchanges often offer a weapon alongside a spell or another reward. This list ranks the weapon options only; it does not claim that taking a weapon is always the best exchange for your character. Requirements and exchange alternatives below are those listed in GameSpot’s June 20, 2024 Shadow of the Erdtree Remembrance guide. Balance can change, and the available information does not establish current comparative damage or performance.
The order favors weapons with a more straightforward fit for a build, a distinctive documented feature, or fewer listed stat demands. It is a practical starting point for PvE, not an objective measure of strength. Check the listed requirements against your character before spending a Remembrance.

1. Sword Lance: a comparatively focused stat investment
The Sword Lance is the most straightforward recommendation here if your build already favors Strength: its listed requirements are STR 21 and DEX 11, and its documented skill is Spinning Gravity Thrust. It has fewer listed attribute demands than the weapons requiring several high stats. Choose it over Blades of Stone only if you want a weapon rather than the sorcery.

2. Putrescent Cleaver: a documented status effect
The Putrescent Cleaver is the only weapon in this list whose guide entry explicitly notes frost buildup. Its Greataxe category and Spinning Guillotine skill give it a distinct identity, but its STR 28 and ARC 15 requirements make it a more committed choice than the Sword Lance. The alternative is Vortex of Putrescence.
3. Spear of the Impaler: a Great Spear with a high Dexterity threshold
Messmer’s weapon is a Great Spear with the Messmer’s Assault skill. Its DEX 35 requirement is the largest listed single-stat threshold among entries with requirements provided here, so it makes most sense for a character already investing heavily in Dexterity. Messmer’s Orb is the competing incantation reward.
4. Greatsword of Damnation: a three-stat requirement
This Greatsword requires STR 20, DEX 15 and FAI 20, and its skill is Golden Crux. It is a possible fit for a character already spreading investment across those attributes; it is a less convenient pick if you would need to reshape your build just to meet the listed requirements. The exchange alternative is Midra’s Flame of Frenzy.
5. Poleblade of the Bud: rot buildup, with substantial requirements
Romina’s Halberd has scarlet rot buildup and the skill Romina’s Purification. Its requirements—STR 14, DEX 22 and ARC 20—are spread across three attributes. That makes it a more natural fit for a character already meeting those demands than for one choosing solely on the basis of its status effect. The other reward is the Rotten Butterflies incantation.

The Shadow Sunflower Blossom is a Colossal Weapon with Shadow Sunflower Headbutt. Its FAI 25 requirement accompanies STR 24 and DEX 8, making Faith and Strength the main listed commitments. Consider it if those stats already suit your character; otherwise, the Land of Shadow incantation is the alternative.
7. Rellana’s Twinblade: a four-attribute commitment
Rellana’s Twinblade is a Light Greatsword with Moon-and-Fire Stance. Its requirements—STR 13, DEX 16, INT 16 and FAI 16—ask for investment across four attributes. That broad spread is its main practical drawback for build planning, even if the weapon’s documented stance is what attracts you. Rellana’s Twin Moons is the sorcery option.
8–9. Radahn’s two Greatswords: pick the skill you want
The Promised Consort Radahn exchange lists two Colossal Swords: Greatsword of Radahn (Lord), with Promised Consort, and Greatsword of Radahn (Light), with Lightspeed Slash. The available guide entry does not state their requirements, so confirm them in-game before committing. The same exchange also lists Light of Miquella incantation; the two swords are separate weapon choices, not a single combined reward.
10–11. Metyr’s choices: a staff or a Colossal Weapon
Metyr’s exchange is the one DLC Remembrance in this list with two weapon options: the Staff of the Great Beyond, a Glintstone Staff, or Gazing Finger, a Colossal Weapon. The June 2024 guide does not state their requirements. Choose by weapon category and the build you intend to use, and check the current in-game requirements before making the exchange.

- For a Strength-focused character with fewer listed attribute demands: consider the Sword Lance.
- If you want the explicitly documented buildup effect: the Putrescent Cleaver has frost buildup; the Poleblade of the Bud has scarlet rot buildup. Compare their requirements with your current stats.
- If your build already invests in Faith: the Greatsword of Damnation or Shadow Sunflower Blossom may be more compatible, depending on your Strength and Dexterity spread.
- If you want to choose between two weapons from one DLC Remembrance: Metyr offers Gazing Finger or Staff of the Great Beyond. Radahn’s exchange lists two distinct Greatswords as well as an incantation option.
- If the alternative is a spell you will actually use: compare that option with the weapon rather than assuming the weapon is automatically the better reward.
What is not a Remembrance weapon reward?
The Dancing Lion exchange lists a talisman and an Ash of War, not a weapon. Bayle is also not a Remembrance entry: he yields a heart traded at the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion for one of two incantations. Neither belongs in a list of Remembrance weapons.
Are the base-game Remembrance weapons included?
No. This ranking is limited to the verified Shadow of the Erdtree weapon exchanges above. A complete base-game inventory cannot be established from the available verified item list, so adding base-game weapons or ranking them here would risk presenting an incomplete or inaccurate list as exhaustive.
