Where do you find Raging Beast?
According to the community item reference, Raging Beast is a guaranteed drop from a teleporting Teardrop Scarab in Scadu Altus. Look for the scarab on a small hill east of the road that runs north-northeast from the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum and Bridge Leading to the Village Site of Grace. The spot is southeast of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and northeast of Bonny Village. Because the scarab teleports, be ready to pursue it when it moves.
What weapon can use Raging Beast?
The item reference lists Raging Beast for infusable Beast Claws. It is not a general-purpose Ash of War for any weapon: check the weapon’s skill menu to confirm compatibility before choosing it.
To apply it, first acquire the Whetstone Knife, then use a Site of Grace and select the weapon’s Ashes of War option. Bandai Namco’s combat guide explains that Ashes of War replace or customize a weapon skill, while compatible Whetblades expand the available affinity choices.

What does the Raging Beast skill do?
The item entry describes the move as: “Step with the swiftness of a beast, leap high, and slash foe from above. Initial step can be taken forward, backward, left, or right. Strong attack allows for a follow-up attack.” It lists the skill cost as 7 FP. That is the listed cost for the skill; the reference does not establish a damage benchmark or current competitive ranking.
Which affinities can you choose?
Raging Beast’s native affinity is Keen. The item reference lists other affinity choices as dependent on having their corresponding Whetblades, so the options available to you depend on which Whetblades you have acquired. The Ash itself does not make every affinity available automatically.

Do you need Shadow of the Erdtree?
Yes. Raging Beast is listed as content from Shadow of the Erdtree, and Bandai Namco states that the expansion requires the ELDEN RING base game. The publisher describes the expansion as adding new weapon skills, among other content: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Bandai Namco’s Version 1.13 patch notes documented two Raging Beast-related changes: a fix for a bug that could trigger a different Rage Art on the strong-attack follow-up after Raging Beast and Dynasty Sickleplay, and a decrease to Raging Beast’s invulnerability window against other players. Those notes describe that patch, not necessarily the skill’s complete balance state in later updates.
