The first Academy Glintstone Key is on a sorcerer’s corpse in Liurnia’s Temple Quarter, north of the Site of Grace. Glintstone Dragon Smarag guards the area, but the key can be looted without fighting it. A second, unused key is inside the Church of the Cuckoo and can be given to Sorcerer Thops.
Where to find the first Academy Glintstone Key
Travel to the Temple Quarter in Liurnia and look for a Glintstone Sorcerer’s corpse north of the Temple Quarter Site of Grace. The key is on the body. Glintstone Dragon Smarag is nearby and guards the location, but Eldenpedia’s guide says you can collect the key without engaging the dragon: Eldenpedia’s Academy Glintstone Key guide.
How to use the key to enter Raya Lucaria Academy
The key opens the seals at the gates to Raya Lucaria Academy. Its in-game description identifies it as the “Key to the seals binding both gates to the Academy of Raya Lucaria.” The key is a Key Item required to enter the Academy, as described by Eldenpedia.
Where to find the spare key for Sorcerer Thops
A second Academy Glintstone Key is on a chandelier inside the Church of the Cuckoo. Reach the church by crossing the rooftops northeast of the Debate Parlor Site of Grace. This is the unused key to keep for Thops’s quest, according to Eldenpedia’s Sorcerer Thops guide.

Why you need the second key for Thops
The in-game item description explains the distinction: “A glintstone key will remember its user, meaning once used it can never be passed on to another.” That means the key used to enter the Academy cannot later be handed to Thops; give him the unused spare instead. The item text is reproduced by Eldenpedia.
