The November 13, 2025 patch notes do not say exactly how the loot changed, and they do not call Security Breach the game’s “most OP” perk.
What Embark changed
In its Patch Notes 1.2.0, dated November 13, 2025, Embark wrote: “Security Lockers were over-providing valuable items and have been adjusted.” That is the official explanation for the change.
The patch entry names Security Lockers, not the Security Breach perk itself. A report published the same day by Insider Gaming identifies the adjustment as a nerf to Security Breach, the perk associated with opening those lockers. The report also attributes a closely matching Discord statement to ARC Raiders community lead Ossen.
What the patch notes do not tell players
Embark did not publish before-and-after loot rates, list which items were affected, or quantify how much less valuable a Security Locker became. The notes confirm an adjustment and give its reason, but they do not establish the size or practical impact of the nerf.

Nor do the cited sources establish that Security Breach was objectively the game’s strongest perk. “Most OP” is headline framing, not a ranking supported by comparative perk data or player-performance measurements.
Is Security Breach still worth choosing?
The available official material cannot answer that for the current game. It documents the November 2025 locker adjustment, but does not show the perk’s current benefit relative to other skill choices, the risk or effort of reaching lockers, or loot outcomes after the change.
That distinction matters because the official ARC Raiders news listing includes later updates and notes that the Frozen Trail Update was due October 8, 2026. The listing does not establish whether that update changed Security Breach or Security Lockers again. Treat the 1.2.0 change as a historical balance adjustment, not confirmation of the perk’s present-day behavior. Check current in-game behavior or a relevant official patch note before making a build decision.

The Security Locker adjustment was one entry in a broader update. Version 1.2.0 also introduced Stella Montis, the Matriarch and Shredder, and a community unlock event. Its highlights included a reduction in character movement latency intended to improve desync and a shorter delay between shooting ARC and seeing impact effects. Those changes provide context for the patch, but do not reveal how much locker loot was reduced.
