“Eminem hires Agent 47 to kill Slim Shady” is the fictional premise of Eminem vs. Slim Shady, an Elusive Target mission for HITMAN World of Assassination. IO Interactive set the mission in Popsomp Hills Asylum, a surreal reworking of the Hokkaido medical facility. Its original run ended December 31, 2025, and the available official information does not establish whether it has returned.
What is the Eminem vs. Slim Shady mission?
In the story, Eminem calls on Agent 47 to take down Slim Shady, his alter ego. IO Interactive developed the collaboration with Eminem and his longtime creative director and producer, Paul Rosenberg. The official name is Eminem vs. Slim Shady; the headline premise describes events inside the game, not a real-world hiring or threat.
The mission transforms the Hokkaido medical facility into Popsomp Hills Asylum, where 47 tracks Slim Shady through a deliberately surreal setting. IO Interactive’s announcement quotes Eminem: “I’ve been trying to put Slim to rest, but he keeps coming back. So this time, I’m calling in a professional to get the job done once and for all. We’ve got some surprises in store for everyone…it’s a battle for the ages.” IO Interactive’s mission announcement lays out the collaboration and premise.
What happens in the mission?
Xbox Wire’s launch overview describes Eminem-themed set pieces including a broadcasting studio, a poisoned spaghetti sandwich, and a performance of “Houdini.” These are details from the publisher’s overview, rather than firsthand gameplay testing. The mix of familiar Hitman assassination framing and references to Eminem’s music and public persona is what makes the mission unusual.

When was it available, and what were the access options?
The original Elusive Target event ran from December 1 through December 31, 2025, according to IO Interactive’s December 2025 roadmap and patch notes. That was a limited event window; the sources documenting it do not confirm a later return or current replay availability.

How does the mission connect to The Death of Slim Shady?
The mission’s Eminem-versus-Slim-Shady setup echoes The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), the album that frames the premise. The album is contextual background, not a requirement to play the mission. Eminem’s official announcement confirms vinyl editions, and his store describes a four-LP set pairing the album with The Slim Shady LP.
