Epic Games Store’s mobile Free Games program is already live: it launched in January 2025, and Epic’s current mobile page advertises a new free game every Thursday. Android users can access the store worldwide, subject to legal restrictions; iPhone and iPad availability is limited to supported regions, currently the European Union for both devices and Japan for iPhone.
Where can you get Epic’s mobile store?
Availability depends on both your device and location. Epic’s current mobile-store page lists the following rollout:

For U.S. readers, the key distinction is that the mobile storefront is not generally available on iPhone or iPad. Epic attributed its original iOS launch to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act and said Apple continued to block the store on iOS outside Europe at that time; its current regional listings should be checked for changes. Epic’s August 2024 announcement explains the original rollout.
What does the mobile Free Games program offer?
Epic’s page advertises a new free game every Thursday on mobile and PC. That is the current storefront cadence, not a guarantee that mobile and PC always offer the same title. The game, promotion window, and eligible regions can vary, so check the live offer on your device.

A limited-time giveaway is different from a free-to-play game. Some titles are free to download and play but may offer optional in-app purchases; a premium game temporarily offered at no charge has its own redemption terms. Check the product page before claiming, especially to see whether the offer adds the game to your account or provides free content or access only for a limited time.
When did mobile giveaways start?
Epic announced and launched the program on January 23–24, 2025. Its introductory offers were Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee and Bloons TD 6, available through February 20, 2025. Those are launch examples, not the current giveaway list. Epic initially described the program as monthly before moving toward a weekly schedule later in 2025. Epic’s launch announcement also introduced nearly 20 third-party mobile games, including Evoland 2, Figment, Hidden Folks, Pilgrims, Out There, Shapez, Samorost 2, Samorost 3, Super Meat Boy Forever, Super Space Club, and There Is No Game. Catalogs differ by platform and region, and this launch lineup should not be read as a current catalog.

How do you install the store and claim a game?
- Open Epic’s official mobile-store page on a supported phone or tablet, then follow the installation route for your device and region.
- Install the Epic Games Store app. Do not confuse it with the separate Epic Games app: the latter does not include the store or let you browse and redeem its free games. See Epic’s explanation of the two apps.
- Sign in with an existing Epic Games account or create one.
- In the store app, open the current Free Giveaway, review the product page and offer terms, then redeem the game during its promotional window.
- Install the title from the store app. The game itself may need much more storage and a newer operating-system version than the store app.
Epic’s installation guidance warns that installing a store outside a device’s default storefront can involve extra steps, settings, and platform security prompts. Use Epic’s official page and follow the prompts for your device; do not install APKs from third-party mirrors or disable unrelated security protections.
What device requirements and installation limits should you know?
Android
- Minimum: Android 8 / SDK 26.
- Recommended for optimal performance: Android 14 / SDK 34 or later.
- The store app itself requires approximately 25 MB; individual games need additional space and may have higher system requirements.
Epic says installed apps are updated automatically on Android. If an automatic update does not work, its Android page says you can update manually from the product page; exact control labels may vary by app version.

iPhone and iPad
- iPhone: iOS 17.6 or later.
- iPad: iPadOS 18 or later.
- The store app requires approximately 25 MB, excluding game files.
Meeting the store’s OS requirement does not guarantee a particular game will run. Epic warns that individual games can require newer software or more capable hardware. The store app is free to install; free-to-play games and limited-time giveaways have different terms, so check the product page for in-app purchases and what the offer actually grants. The January 2025 change was more than an extension of Fortnite to phones. Epic had launched its mobile store in August 2024 with Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe; the later update added third-party games, mobile giveaways, and store features. Epic also presented the store as another way for developers to distribute games outside Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Epic’s critique of mobile app-store competition and fees is its own advocacy position, not a neutral finding. In a January 2025 statement, the company discussed Apple’s Core Technology Fee and said it would cover that fee for participating iOS free-game titles. Epic’s statement sets out its position.
