Epic’s Holiday Sale ran from December 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. ET to January 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET, with the games revealed over the sale. That promotion has ended, and the sources available here do not confirm a 2026 Holiday Sale or a new 16-game giveaway.
What did “16 days of free gaming” mean?
Epic’s December 12, 2024 buyer’s guide said it would reveal “16 free games” over the duration of the Holiday Sale. The number described the giveaway lineup, not the length of the event. The sale itself lasted from December 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. ET, through January 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET.

So the headline’s “16 Days” wording can be misleading: the official announcement supports 16 games during a longer sale, not a 16-day countdown.
Is the Epic Games Store holiday giveaway happening now?
No current holiday giveaway is established by the official information cited here. Epic’s 2025 Holiday Sale ran from December 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET, through January 8, 2026, at 11 a.m. ET, and the store’s Holiday Sale page now marks that sale as ended. The official sources do not confirm dates, a game count, or a lineup for a 2026 Holiday Sale.

Both past holiday sales included seasonal Epic Rewards language, but those offers have expired: the 2024 guide described a 10% Rewards boost through January 9, 2025, and the 2025 guide described a 20% offer through January 8, 2026. Neither figure should be treated as a current Rewards rate.
How to find and claim a current free Epic game
Epic’s Free Games page is the official place to check which games are currently offered. The page describes a recurring weekly free game, with offers on PC and mobile. Mobile availability varies: Epic says offers are available on Android globally and on iPhone or iPad in supported regions.

- Open the Epic Games Store’s official Free Games page and check the current game, platform, region, and displayed claim deadline.
- Sign in to an Epic Games account with two-factor authentication enabled. Epic Player Support lists this as a requirement for claiming the weekly free game.
- Complete the claim before the offer expires. Support says new weekly games become available Thursday at 8 a.m. PT and may be claimed for seven days.
After a successful claim, the game stays in your account permanently; downloading it immediately is not required. If redemption fails, Epic directs players to its help article for free-offer redemption problems and then to Player Support if the issue continues.

Not from Epic’s support information: Epic Player Support says it “doesn’t have advance information about upcoming free games.” Check the Free Games page for the offer that is actually live rather than relying on an unverified future lineup.
