Epic Games Store’s weekly free-to-keep game is Caravan SandWitch, available to claim from August 13 through Thursday, August 20, 2026. The store listing confirms Windows requirements, but native macOS support is not established by the listing available here—so Mac players should check the product page’s platform details before claiming with the expectation of installing it on a Mac.
What is the new Epic Games Store free game?
Caravan SandWitch is a relaxed, exploration-focused adventure set in a post-apocalyptic science-fiction landscape. Its premise centers on traveling by van, exploring the world, and investigating a mystery. It is a limited-time giveaway, not a permanently free-to-play game.

When does the giveaway end?
The current claim window is August 13–20, 2026. Epic says its weekly giveaways normally rotate on Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time and remain available for seven days. Claim it before Thursday, August 20, rather than waiting until the final hours; the live store countdown is the best guide if timing differs by region.

#1 Best Overall
- A Single Player Open World Experience
- Sci-Fi Provence-like world, driven by a mystery through your missing sister that unfolds with each step you take.
- Upgrade your van throughout your adventure and explorations to open up new passages and ruins.
- Meet the Reinetos, an old aboriginal species, the Robots left behind after the planet exploitation, the humans who stayed after everyone left for another planet, and the mysterious SandWitch.
- Take your time to explore the world, whether in your van or on foot
Epic’s support information does not provide advance details about every upcoming giveaway. After this offer rotates out, do not assume Caravan SandWitch will remain free.
How to claim it
- Open the Epic Games Store Free Games page.
- Sign in to your Epic Games account. Epic says two-factor authentication must be enabled to claim weekly free games.
- Open the Caravan SandWitch giveaway listing and select Get or the equivalent current claim button.
- Complete the checkout, which should show a zero total during the promotion.
- Check that Caravan SandWitch appears in your Epic library. You can download it through the Epic Games Launcher when you are ready.
Is it free to keep?
Yes, if you complete the claim while the giveaway is active. Epic says a successfully claimed weekly giveaway becomes a permanent addition to the account’s library, so you do not need to download it before August 20. The entitlement is tied to your Epic account and store ecosystem; it is not a DRM-free copy, and people who miss the claim window cannot assume they will still get it at no cost.

This is different from a demo, a free weekend, or a free-to-play listing: make sure you complete the zero-cost claim and see the game in your library. A download alone is not proof that the giveaway entitlement was added.
Does Caravan SandWitch support Windows and Mac?
The Epic product listing provides Windows system requirements. The listing available here does not establish a native macOS version, so the giveaway should be treated as confirmed for Windows rather than advertised as a Windows-and-Mac release. Having the Epic Games Store client on a Mac does not by itself mean this particular game has a Mac build, and a Windows claim does not automatically include one.

- Take a trip across the expansive land
- With every step, the mystery of the disappeared sister is revealed and embark on an adventure into the Provence-like science fiction
- Help them work and meet new people as you connect with the people of the Planet Cigaro
- Ride on the van or walk to adventure the world
- Life here is simple. There are no fight, no death, no limit time, just you and your van and the world
Check the live Epic product page for platform labels and requirements before relying on Mac compatibility. Third-party compatibility layers or virtual machines are not native support, and their results can vary.

What to try if the claim button or game is missing
- No claim button: Sign in, confirm two-factor authentication is enabled, and check the Free Games page and offer countdown. The promotion may have expired, or the store may be experiencing a temporary issue.
- Game not in the library: Confirm the checkout completed at zero cost and that you are viewing the Epic account used to claim it. Search the library, then refresh it or sign out and back in to the launcher.
- Claimed on one platform, hoping to install on Mac: Check the product page’s platform details. A Windows entitlement is not evidence of a native Mac build.
Epic’s official explanation of giveaway timing, claiming, account requirements, and library entitlements is on its weekly free games support page.
