EpicDB listings reported in June 2024 exposed unpublished or codenamed entries in the Epic Games Store catalogue, but they did not confirm that the entries were real, active games. Epic said it changed the store to prevent third-party tools from surfacing new unpublished product titles; it did not verify the identity or status of any particular listing.
What was EpicDB?
EpicDB was an unofficial third-party project tracking information associated with the Epic Games Store, not an Epic-operated announcement channel. In a Reddit post, the project account described it as a hobby database for product information such as images, pricing and build sizes. That description came from the project itself; it was not an independently audited specification.
What did EpicDB reveal?
On June 12, 2024, contemporaneous coverage reported that users had found unpublished or codenamed product entries through EpicDB. Reported examples included a Turok listing under Saber Interactive, alongside other entries that users associated with anticipated projects. VGC and Gematsu covered the listings.
There is an important distinction between an entry being visible in a database and a codename being matched to a particular game. The first is a report about catalogue information; the second is an interpretation. Neither establishes that a product was approved, in active development or scheduled for release.

Did Epic confirm the leaked games?
No. An Epic spokesperson told VGC on June 12, 2024: “We released an update so third-party tools can’t surface any new unpublished product titles from the Epic Games Store catalogue.” The statement confirms Epic said it had updated the store; it does not confirm any rumored title or codename mapping.
GamesRadar noted that Epic’s statement did not confirm or deny whether the reported discoveries were real games or abandoned projects. A catalogue entry alone cannot resolve that question. It could represent a placeholder, test, abandoned entry, codename or unannounced project; the available reporting does not establish which explanation applied to every listing.

How to judge a specific EpicDB rumor
For any claim about an individual listing, separate three questions:
- What was observed? Was a product entry directly reported as visible, or is the claim based on interpreting a codename?
- Who confirmed the identity? Treat a codename-to-game match as speculation unless the publisher or developer confirms it.
- What is the entry’s status? The listing itself does not show whether a project is current, abandoned, a placeholder or otherwise unverified.
The June 2024 reporting establishes that entries were reported and that Epic said it changed what third-party tools could surface. It does not establish how many entries represented genuine games, or what happened to each one afterward.
