Escape from Tarkov patch 1.0.2.5 focused on faster matchmaking and raid transitions, updated DLSS to version 4.5, and rebalanced many weapon attachments. Its changelog also lists fixes for story tasks, Flea Market errors, sound, networking, damage handling, and other issues. The attachment changes are qualitative rather than a build guide: check current in-game stats before choosing parts.
What changed in Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5?
- Faster raid entry: Server launch mechanics were adjusted to speed up creating match rooms and getting players into raids.
- Faster raid exit: Raid completion and the display of post-raid statistics were adjusted to help players leave raids sooner.
- Quicker launch and menus: The game client launch and menu loading were optimized. The notes do not provide measured load-time improvements.
- DLSS 4.5: The update brought the upscaler to version 4.5 and added support for new presets.
- Terminal timer: The Zubr boat departure timer is now permanently visible during the final part of Terminal.

How did the weapon-attachment rebalance work?
The patch adjusted stats for most muzzle devices, magazines, grips, and buttstocks. Battlestate Games described its aim as narrowing the gap between popular high-tier attachments and options that players rarely used. The official channel put it this way: “Our goal was to bridge the gap between the most popular, high-tier attachments and those that are currently rarely used.”
Muzzle devices: recoil control versus stealth
Flash hiders and muzzle brakes gained recoil-reduction effectiveness. Suppressors, including suppressor-and-muzzle-brake combinations, had a smaller recoil effect than before, while their ergonomics penalty was reduced. The intended trade-off is clearer: a suppressor is less dominant as a recoil choice and less costly to handling, so players can weigh recoil control against stealth rather than treating one setup as an automatic winner.

Magazines: capacity and handling
High-capacity magazines had a reduced ergonomics impact. The patch also adjusted modifiers for magazine loading, unloading, and checking. The notes do not prescribe a particular capacity or magazine for any weapon; compare the current handling effects alongside capacity when selecting one.
Grips and buttstocks: a narrower gap
Differences among pistol grips, foregrips, and buttstocks were narrowed. Late-game choices retained a slight edge over budget alternatives, rather than being made identical.

What to compare when revisiting a build
- Recoil control, including the difference between a muzzle brake and a suppressor setup.
- Ergonomics and magazine handling modifiers, not capacity alone.
- Whether stealth matters for the way you use the weapon.
- The current price and unlock status of the parts you can access.
The changelog gives the direction of these adjustments, not a complete set of weapon-by-weapon recommendations. Check current in-game stats before relying on a build or claiming that an attachment is best in the present meta.
What did Battlestate say would come later?
In its official English Escape from Tarkov channel, Battlestate described further work as future stages, not as additional completed changes in patch 1.0.2.5. Those plans included adjustments to barrel and handguard stats; possible base-stat changes for the weapons most affected, especially 7.62×39 AK models and platforms chambered for 7.62×51 and 7.62x54R; and revisions to attachment prices and unlock conditions. The studio also said it was considering changes related to unsuppressed muzzle flash. The post does not establish that these follow-up changes have since shipped.

Notable fixes in the changelog
The changelog lists fixes across quests, the Flea Market, combat, audio, networking, interfaces, and AI. These are examples of addressed issues, not evidence that every related problem was eliminated.
Story tasks and rewards
- Fixed Priest-kill progress resetting in the “They Are Already Here” story chapter.
- Fixed Mr. Kerman not appearing as a contact after an unsuccessful Lab search.
- Fixed Lightkeeper dialogue freezes that could prevent players from receiving quest rewards.
Flea Market and raid systems
- Addressed Flea Market Errors 214 and 228.
- Fixed incorrect sound occlusion in parts of Reserve’s D2 bunker.
- Fixed network synchronization issues involving grenade throws and the BTR.
- Fixed incorrect damage handling for a blacked-out limb.
Other reported fixes
The changelog also mentions movement, audio, UI, spawning, and bot issues, including duplicated interfaces while looting. It does not claim that all problems in those broader areas are resolved.

When was the update installed?
Battlestate’s official English Telegram channel said installation was planned for March 5 at 7:00 AM GMT / 2:00 AM EST, with an estimated duration of four to six hours and the game unavailable during installation. The channel later reported that installation was complete. The announcement excerpt does not show a year, so that schedule should not be taken as a current maintenance window. The Steam community changelog post is dated March 4 at 11:00 PM.
