Escape from Tarkov update 1.2.0.0 was installed on October 6, 2026, and its confirmed focus is improving PvE. It adds optional PvE Prestige resets and changes PMC bot distribution and equipment. The available patch notes do not establish a forced game-wide wipe or name a roster of newly added firearms.
What changed in Tarkov update 1.2.0.0?
Battlestate Games announced a planned five-to-seven-hour maintenance window for the October 6 update, with downtime potentially lasting longer. The developer later confirmed installation was complete and told players to download the update through the launcher. Its stated focus was improving the PvE experience, including a dedicated PvE Prestige system; the published notes also cover changes to PMC bots.
The patch should not be read as confirmation that every item discussed on the broader roadmap arrived in 1.2.0.0. Battlestate Games’ official English Telegram channel contains the update timing and Prestige announcement.
Is there a Tarkov wipe with the new update?
The available patch notes do not say that update 1.2.0.0 forces a global wipe. PvE Prestige is an optional reset: a player who meets the requirements can choose to reset profile progression in the PvE Zone in exchange for rewards. It does not reset progression in EFT: Arena, according to Battlestate Games’ pre-update explanation.

Prestige requirements can involve character level, tasks, Hideout construction, main-story completion, stash items or currency, and skill levels. The first PvE Prestige level has lower requirements than its PvP counterpart. Players who have not reset progression since the game’s release can use Prestige to access rewards and release content, the storyline, the Icebreaker chapter, and future events.
What does PvE Prestige reset, and what can you keep?
Update 1.2.0.0 includes six PvE Prestige levels. Each level resets PvE Zone profile progression, but players can retain some gear, a percentage of skills, and weapon mastery; retained weapon mastery can reach up to 50%. The precise retained amount depends on the Prestige rules and requirements rather than being a blanket promise that progression stays intact.

Reward availability varies. Some rewards stay exclusive to the PvE character, while items earned through PvE Prestige—including TarCoins, unique dogtags, shooting-range targets, Hideout posters, melee weapons, Tarko figurines, and a unique Gamma secure container—can become available across modes. Battlestate Games said PvE-earned apparel and appearance rewards remain available in PvE. Its pre-patch post described the system as following rules like PvP Prestige while noting that many rewards are exclusive to PvE.
What weapons are in the Tarkov update?
The reviewed patch notes do not name newly added firearm models, so they do not support a definitive new-gun list. They do confirm changes to PMC bot weapons and equipment: a bot’s gear, weapons, and combat difficulty now depend on its level and faction. Higher-level bots use better weapons and equipment; lower-level bots are less threatening and use lower-trader-tier gear. These are bot loadout and difficulty adjustments, not proof that specific new firearms were added.

The original roadmap artifact is needed to verify exact milestones and whether the schedule has changed.
