What is Fragmentary Order?
Fragmentary Order is a hard-science-fiction combat game associated with Nikita Buyanov, the creator of Escape from Tarkov. GamesBeat reported on April 22, 2026, that Buyanov created Rant Gaming Studios for the project; PC Gamer reported on April 13 that COR3 is its publisher. Those reports present it as a distinct project, not a new Tarkov installment.
Buyanov described the design to GamesBeat as a combat simulator with extraction mechanics. He did not use the label “extraction shooter” in that interview.
What are the setting and gameplay supposed to be?
The reporting gives two complementary views of the premise. GamesBeat says Buyanov described a hard-sci-fi setting that could be a couple of hundred years in the future, where an organization called the Core uses AI to bring order to society. PC Gamer describes the setting as the year 2251: a dystopian future in which the Core helps unite governments and expand human settlement into space.

Reported gameplay elements include fighting human opponents who use clones or drones, operating vehicles, taking contracts, scavenging, and trying to survive. PC Gamer says players remotely use clone assets. These are descriptions of the announced premise, not confirmation that every element will appear in the finished game.
In the GamesBeat interview, Buyanov said maps could be four or five times the size of Tarkov maps. That is his comparison, not an independently measured map specification. GamesBeat also reports that the game uses Unreal Engine; this does not establish performance or final technical requirements.

How is it related to Escape from Tarkov?
Buyanov told GamesBeat, “People should not treat this as a replacement for Tarkov.” The reporting describes Fragmentary Order as a separate Rant Gaming project, while Battlestate Games remains focused on Escape from Tarkov content.
PC Gamer also reported Buyanov’s statement on social media: “Escape from Tarkov is my life, and I’m continuing working on it too with my BSG (Battlestate Games) family no matter what. Tarkov for life.” The available information supports a distinction between the projects, not a claim that Fragmentary Order is a sequel or that its final gameplay is already settled.

When will Fragmentary Order come out?
As of GamesBeat’s April 22, 2026 interview, the game was at a relatively early testing stage and closed-alpha testing was planned soon. PC Gamer reported that developers responded to preorder questions: “We appreciate the eagerness, but let’s not jump ahead of ourselves.” Neither report gives a release date.
The April 2026 reports do not establish a current release window, supported platforms, or whether closed-alpha testing has since begun. Treat those details as unconfirmed unless a newer official announcement provides them. The reporting does not establish an available preorder or physical edition.
