On December 18, 2024, Insider Gaming reported a temporary Escape from Tarkov pre-wipe event that set Cultists to spawn at night on Shoreline, Customs and Woods. The reported 100% rate applied to those night raids—not every map or time of day—and the event should not be treated as a current game setting.
What the reported 100% Cultist spawn rate meant
Insider Gaming reported that Battlestate Games set Cultist spawns to 100% for night raids on Shoreline, Customs and Woods during the December 2024 event. The figure described an event setting, not a measured guarantee of a particular player encountering Cultists in every raid.
The report specifically distinguished those maps from Ground Zero and Factory, where Cultists do not spawn. It did not describe a general change to daytime raids or to all maps. Insider Gaming’s December 18, 2024 report is the source for these event details.
Marked Keys were reported, not guaranteed
Insider Gaming said that “many” Cultists carried Marked Keys, which open high-value locations in-game. The report did not say every Cultist dropped a key, and it gave no drop percentage. Players therefore could not infer a guaranteed key from the reported spawn rate: the spawn condition and the reported key-carrying behavior were separate claims.

Other details from the event report
The event was described as available to PvP players. Insider Gaming also reported that Mechanic was selling night-vision equipment at a discount, including the GPNVG-18 for 43,000 roubles at the time. That is a dated, temporary in-game price from December 2024, not a current price.
The report reproduced this event flavor text: “The losses of both PMC factions during night-time operations have increased. The old-timers believe that this is due to the pilgrimage of the so-called ‘witnesses’ to their marked circles.” It also quoted: “There are reports of many of those hooded people carrying marked keys. Despite the increased danger, PMCs are now preparing for night raids and taking advantage of the fact that Mechanic started selling NVGs at a great discount.” The report did not identify a speaker for either passage.
