Battlestate Games announced a 100% boss spawn chance on every location for Escape from Tarkov’s 2025 Hardcore Wipe, but that was not the final setting: the chance was later reduced to 70%, then 50%. Those figures document changes during the 2025 wipe; available sources do not establish the boss rate or whether the mode is active as of October 8, 2026.
What did “100% boss spawns” mean?
On July 4, 2025, Battlestate Games announced the rules for an upcoming Hardcore Wipe. As reported by Insider Gaming, the announcement set a 100% boss spawn chance on all locations. The percentage described the announced chance for bosses to spawn; it did not mean every raid would necessarily contain every boss.
The 100% setting was part of a broader ruleset. The announcement also specified increased AI difficulty, less experience for killing enemies and dying, and more experience for surviving. The wipe had no release date at the time of that announcement.
How the boss spawn chance changed
The announced 100% chance was subsequently adjusted after the wipe launched. Battlestate Games’ official Telegram updates recorded the later reductions; PC Gamer also reported on the launch-period changes.

|---|---|---|
| Announcement, July 2025 | 100% | Announced for all locations in the Hardcore Wipe rules, as reported by Insider Gaming. |

During the launch period, the game also restored selection of all locations after initial rules had restricted map access to transitions, according to PC Gamer’s July 15, 2025 report. That map-access change and the spawn-rate reductions were separate adjustments.

The cited announcements and reports establish a historical sequence—100%, then 70%, then 50%—during the 2025 Hardcore Wipe. They do not establish the rate currently in effect or whether that wipe remains active on October 8, 2026. The later 50% figure should therefore not be presented as today’s setting without a newer confirmation from Battlestate Games.
