Escape from Tarkov’s Kolotun winter event ran from December 24, 2025, through January 8, 2026, and is no longer active. It added limited-time quests, a frostbite effect, and holiday content for the Hideout. Here’s what the event included and what its documented rewards were.
When did the Kolotun event run?
Kolotun was available from December 24, 2025, until January 8, 2026. Battlestate Games’ official English Telegram announcement gave the completion deadline as January 8 at 9 AM GMT / 4 AM EST: Battlestate Games on Telegram. Those dates have passed, so the event quests are not currently available as of October 8, 2026.
What did Kolotun add?
The community-maintained Escape from Tarkov event listing describes Santa Claus appearing on locations except The Lab and The Labyrinth, a Christmas Tree module for the Hideout, and a set of limited-time quests. It also lists frostbite, a status effect caused by exposure to snow.
The listed quests were Missing in Action, Clearing the Way, Kolotun, Cold Start, Come by the Fire, Knuckle Sandwich, Self-Employed, Stay Frosty, Skiing with Skier, and A Small Celebration. The list is a record of the event content, not a promise that these tasks or mechanics remain in the current game.

How did the Kolotun quest line work?
The event chain involved more than one kind of objective. Prapor’s Missing in Action, for example, required placing buckwheat, vodka, and an Iskra ration at specified locations on Woods, Reserve, and Interchange. A contemporaneous quest guide also describes a community choice between Prapor and Skier, with different hat-based combat tasks on the two branches.
The available accounts establish that players faced a branch choice, but do not provide a reliably verified, complete comparison of every branch’s objectives and rewards. A guide published during the event reports individual quest rewards, including 13,000 EXP, two topographical survey maps, and 50,000 roubles for one task. Treat those figures as secondary reporting rather than a complete or current reward schedule.

What did A Small Celebration reward?
Ragman’s A Small Celebration task required launching a firework in the appropriate place, eating Olivier salad, and drinking vodka. The community-maintained quest listing records these rewards:
- 20,000 EXP
- Ragman reputation +0.01
- 80,000 roubles, with higher listed totals when Intelligence Center levels apply
- Two Crye Precision AVS plate carriers in Ranger Green
- One ballistic plate case
The achievement listing for Whiteout says it is earned by celebrating Christmas and New Year and completing the Kolotun 2025 event task; it lists the New Year ushanka hat purchase at Ragman LL1 as an unlock. These are the rewards and unlock conditions recorded for the event, but the sources do not establish that the values remained unchanged in later game versions.

Can you complete Kolotun now?
No. The event ended on January 8, 2026, and its tasks were limited-time content. The event listing and quest pages document what players could do and earn while Kolotun was live; they do not indicate that the quest line can be started or completed now.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is known about the rewards?
The best-documented example is A Small Celebration’s reward list above. The official announcement corroborates the event’s end date, while the quest inventory and reward details come from a community-maintained wiki and independent guides. No complete official quest-by-quest reward table is established here, so individual figures from event-era guides should not be treated as a definitive record for every task or for later versions of Tarkov.
