The list below is therefore a reference to characters featured on that official page—not a guarantee that every entry is currently selectable in-game. The clearest dated additions in the latest official updates are Devil Dinosaur in Season 8 and Jubilee in Season 9.

How to check who is playable now
For a current playable-hero list, check the in-game hero selection screen. Use the official Heroes and Team-Up page as a roster-related reference, but do not assume a name appearing there proves that the character is currently selectable. Dated patch notes are stronger evidence for when a specific character was added; check the latest official updates for changes after the dates above.

What kind of game is Marvel Rivals?
Marvel describes Marvel Rivals as a free-to-play, team-based superhero shooter. Its official launch announcement says: “All heroes will be unlocked and free-to-play at launch and beyond.” That statement describes the publisher’s launch announcement, issued August 21, 2024; it is not a dated guarantee about future roster changes or a substitute for checking current in-game availability.
