Babidi and Evil Buu are listed on the current official DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO character roster. The roster calls Evil Buu “Majin Buu (Pure Evil),” distinguishing him from the game’s other Majin Buu forms. The official roster confirms their presence, but does not say when either character was first announced.
Are Evil Buu and Babidi in Sparking Zero?
Both appear on Bandai Namco’s official character roster. Babidi is listed as 魔導師バビディ, and the character commonly called Evil Buu is listed as 魔人ブウ（純粋悪）, translated as “Majin Buu (Pure Evil).” The roster establishes that they are in the game; it does not provide a first-confirmation date for either character.

What the launch roster and later DLC mean
Launch context
Bandai Namco’s 2024 launch announcement said DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO would launch with 181 playable characters. It gave October 11, 2024 as the release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. That is the publisher’s announced launch-roster count, not a count of the current roster or of these two characters specifically. Bandai Namco’s launch-roster announcement
Super Limit-Breaking NEO
Super Limit-Breaking NEO is later DLC, not the announcement that confirms Babidi and Evil Buu. Bandai Namco said on July 30, 2026 that the DLC was available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 planned for a later date. The publisher says it adds 33 playable characters across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT. Its announcement names examples including Mercenary Tao, Grandpa Gohan, General Blue, Mighty Mask, Supreme Kai, Super 17, and Champa; it does not identify Babidi or Evil Buu as NEO additions. Where to check editions and DLC
Bandai Namco’s official product page lists packaged and download editions across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Switch 2, and Switch, as well as DLC separately. Availability can vary by region. Check the contents of an edition before buying add-on content: the page warns that DLC included with an edition may overlap with DLC purchased separately. The character roster confirmation does not by itself mean a particular edition includes a specific DLC pack.
