In an interview-based retrospective published October 8, 2026, Dexerto reporter Michael Gwilliam reported his remarks, with the interview credited to Eldorado. The statements below are Graham’s own recollections and opinions as reported by Dexerto. What Graham said about the critics
Graham’s central regret is about tone and advocacy rather than about the streams themselves. Asked what he would do differently, he said:
“If I had to go back and do it differently, I actually would have been far more bullish about, why do you f**king care, right?”
His core argument for that stance is simple audience choice. In the same interview he said:

“It is really simple. If you don’t want to watch that, then don’t watch it.”
It is worth being precise about what this is. Graham was describing how he thinks Twitch should have responded to viewers who objected, not announcing a platform rule. He is also not reported as having made a new policy proposal of his own.
Gambling streams versus hot tub streams
Graham made a comparison that goes beyond the hot tub debate. He argued that gambling streams deserved more scrutiny than hot tub streams, saying:

“Because where’s the same energy for gambling and gambling streams, right? I think that is a lot more harmful than a man or a woman sitting in a hot tub talking to chat.”

“I don’t think the creators were doing anything wrong,” he said. “I applaud them for reading the rules and being like, ‘Hey, I’ve read the rules that Twitch wants me to follow and therefore I can do this.’”
From that position, he argued that if Twitch objected to what the rules allowed, the responsibility sat with Twitch to clarify them. He also described how policy tends to change. Creators’ broadcasts, he said, can reveal situations that existing rules did not anticipate:

On this account, policy changes are reactions to what creators do, not something creators can order a company to make. That distinction matters for reading his comments on the 2021 response, which he described as partial and slow to update the rules.

Graham acknowledged that some creators received favorable treatment. He named two examples: faster access to Partner status and party access for friends. He also pushed back against broader claims of favoritism. In his words:
“I guarantee you that there were creators that got a quick bump to Partner or a buddy brought into a party because, right, that shit definitely was happening.”

Dexerto reports that Graham said he knew of instances that had been proven and led to job losses, but the article does not identify those instances, name the creators, or document the cases. Treat these claims as Graham’s account only.
