To stream a Telugu video playlist to YouTube Live with FFmpeg, use YouTube’s current ingest settings as your target: constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and a bitrate matched to your resolution and frame rate. Prefer RTMPS when available. FFmpeg can loop one file indefinitely with -stream_loop -1; a playlist of multiple files needs a separate concat setup and media-compatibility checks. Test the complete stream before leaving it unattended.
Choose settings that match the source
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, H.264, H.265 (HEVC) or AV1 video, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and CBR encoding. For a broadly compatible starting point, use H.264 video and AAC audio. Keep the output resolution and frame rate appropriate for the source, and choose a bitrate your upload connection can sustain.
YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says not to exceed four seconds. Its current guidance, accessed in 2026, gives these H.264 bitrate settings:

These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not measurements of your channel’s picture quality or guarantees that your internet connection can sustain the feed. Check upload capacity and test the stream before relying on it. See YouTube’s encoder settings.

Loop one video file indefinitely
For a single file, FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 input option repeats that input indefinitely. Put the option before the matching -i; FFmpeg options generally apply to the next input or output, so their order matters. A minimal input pattern is:
ffmpeg -stream_loop -1 -i input.mp4 ...
The ellipsis is intentional: the output options depend on the file’s codecs, dimensions, frame rate, audio layout, FFmpeg build, and whether you will copy or re-encode streams. This input option alone does not configure a YouTube stream. Consult the FFmpeg command-line documentation for option behavior, and configure output encoding and the publishing destination for your particular media.

Build a playlist from multiple files
Repeating one input is not the same as cycling through a collection of files. One FFmpeg approach for multiple files is the concat demuxer. Before relying on stream copy, check that playlist entries have compatible stream properties. Differences in codecs, dimensions, frame rates, time bases, or audio layouts can make a simple copy workflow unsuitable or cause problems at transitions.
- Inspect the files. Compare their video and audio streams, including codec, dimensions, frame rate, and audio layout.
- Choose a compatible workflow. Use stream copy only when the inputs are sufficiently compatible for the concat workflow. Otherwise, normalize or re-encode the media to consistent output properties.
- Test transitions. Play through file boundaries and listen for audio gaps, abrupt changes, or synchronization problems before broadcasting continuously.
The right concat procedure depends on the actual files; there is no single command that is safe for every playlist. See FFmpeg’s formats documentation for the concat demuxer.

Connect FFmpeg to YouTube Live
- Create or schedule the event. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the live stream using YouTube’s encoder workflow.
- Copy the publishing details. Obtain the stream URL and stream key shown for the event. YouTube describes the key as the password and address that tell the encoder where to send the feed and allow YouTube to accept it. Treat it as a secret; do not publish it or include it in material others can access.
- Use the secure destination when supported. Prefer the RTMPS URL if your FFmpeg setup supports it. RTMPS is RTMP delivered over TLS/SSL; YouTube explains how to obtain the secure URL in its RTMPS instructions.
- Configure and start the output. Enter the event’s URL and key in FFmpeg’s publishing destination and set output encoding to the chosen codec, CBR bitrate, frame rate, and keyframe interval. The exact command depends on the media and installed FFmpeg build, so validate it against your actual source rather than copying an unqualified command.
- Check the event in Live Control Room. Confirm YouTube receives the feed and review stream-health notices and messages.
YouTube Help says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” It recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast and monitoring stream health and messages. The encoder setup instructions also state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish normal archive behavior for an uninterrupted 24/7 stream.
Keep an FFmpeg stream running unattended
A command that can loop media indefinitely is not, by itself, a complete 24/7 operating plan. The FFmpeg protocol documentation describes network-input options for reconnection after errors and treating EOF as an error for live or endless inputs. Those options do not establish that FFmpeg will recover a YouTube publishing session after every interruption. An unattended deployment needs monitoring and an explicit restart and recovery plan.

- Keep the host and its network connection available for the full broadcast.
- Monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages, especially after starting or changing the playlist.
- Plan how the process will be restarted if FFmpeg exits or the publishing session drops; do not assume input reconnection alone restores the YouTube session.

The technical settings do not confirm that a particular channel is eligible to broadcast a 24/7 prerecorded playlist or that its contents comply with YouTube policy. Check your current Live Control Room status and the policies that apply to your channel and videos before starting. Make sure you have the rights needed to use every video and audio track; a successful encoder connection is not proof that content is authorized or policy-compliant.
