Its story follows a fire-like alien serpent that reaches Earth after a solar flare and begins consuming fuel. The title can also refer to Xiuhcōātl in Aztec mythology; that is a separate subject, not the film’s source story.
What is Fire Serpent about?
A solar flare sends a fiery, serpentine alien to Earth. As it consumes fuel and threatens a small community, the creature reaches a military oil reserve. An older man’s “Halogen Gun” may offer a way to stop it, and local residents take up the technology. A government employee complicates the response by helping the creature, believing it to be the spirit of a god.

When was it released, and how long is it?
The film entry records a release date of February 24, 2007. Its reported runtime is 89 minutes; Apple TV’s French catalog listing gives the equivalent duration of 1 hour 29 minutes. The film was associated with the Sci Fi Channel, now branded SYFY.
Where can you watch Fire Serpent?
Availability depends on country and changes over time. Apple TV has a catalog listing for the film in France, while a German JustWatch page has reported local streaming or rental options and DVD retail context. Those listings do not establish current availability elsewhere or a universal streaming option. Check the catalog in your country for current subscription, rental, or purchase choices.

A DVD Talk review references the film’s DVD video, but that does not confirm current stock, a particular edition, region compatibility, or a current price. Check the case or seller listing for region and playback compatibility before buying.
Is the film related to Xiuhcōātl?
No connection is established. “Fire serpent” is also used as an English rendering for Xiuhcōātl, an Aztec mythological figure, but the film’s title and its alien-serpent plot do not by themselves show that the movie adapts or is historically connected to that figure.
Rank #3
How was the film received?
A secondary film reference reports that David Cornelius of DVD Talk reviewed the film negatively and that Jon Condit of Dread Central described it as “dull.” These are brief reports of the reviewers’ views, not a comprehensive account of critical reception.
