Its central joke comes with a serious caveat: creator assman3000 says dialogue breaks because every race becomes Bob. This is not the same as a mod for Oblivion Remastered.
What is Boblivion?
Boblivion is a Nexus Mods listing by assman3000 for the original Oblivion. The creator describes it as changing “literally every single thing in the base game” to Bob, then qualifies that as “99% of everything.” That percentage is the author’s characterization, not a measured count. The joke is deliberately comprehensive rather than a small character or cosmetic swap. PC Gamer’s 23 April 2025 coverage likewise describes the mod as being for “OG Oblivion,” noting that menus and items become Bob. Read PC Gamer’s coverage.
Does dialogue still work?
Not normally, according to the creator. assman3000 warns that dialogue breaks because all races are now Bob; the author adds that characters can still be spoken to telepathically, but “all they have to say is ‘Bob.’” Treat this as the creator’s description, not an independently verified compatibility or playability test. It makes Boblivion a joke conversion, not a sound choice for a conventional story playthrough.

Is Boblivion for Oblivion Remastered?
No: the Boblivion described above targets the original game. PC Gamer identifies it as an “OG Oblivion” mod, not a Remastered mod. A separate Nexus Mods listing for Oblivion Remastered also uses “BOBLIVION” in its title or changelog, but describes different changes: the main-menu character and loading-screen material. The shared name does not make the listings interchangeable.

PC Gamer also quotes Bethesda as saying, in the context of Remastered, “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is not officially supported for mods.” That statement is not a compatibility verdict on the original-game Boblivion.

Where is the original mod, and what should you know before installing?
The original-game mod is listed on Nexus Mods under the name Boblivion and creator assman3000. The indexed listing reports version 1.0 and a 21 April 2025 update date; check the live page for current files and compatibility details before installing.
The author advises backing up original files if the installer prompts you to replace the Oblivion logo video or another file, and says the mod should work without replacing that video. This is the creator’s precaution, not a verified installation procedure. Follow the current listing’s instructions and preserve files you may need to restore.
