When did Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 release?
Epic Games published its LAWLESS season announcement on February 21, 2025, saying Chapter 6 Season 2 was here. The announcement does not give a separate future launch date; February 21 is the date of Epic’s announcement and its statement that the season was live.

Epic’s announcement records that the season ended May 2, 2025, Eastern Time. The Battle Pass was available to progress until that date.
What was new in Fortnite LAWLESS?
LAWLESS cast the island as a crime-and-heist setting, with a crime boss, new points of interest, currencies to spend and opportunities to raid transports and vaults.

Locations and crime boss
Crime City brought together locations including the Hostile Hotel, Wise Guys Bookstore and the Launder Mat. Other featured areas included the resort Outlaw Oasis, the mining site Shiny Shafts and Fletcher Kane’s Lonewolf Lair. Epic described Kane as a crime kingpin and boss who could drop a Mythic Double Down Pistol and the Unstoppable Medallion.
Gold Rush, currencies and Black Markets
Players could gain Gold Rush by swimming in gold-infused water or mining Gold Veins. Bars and Dill Bits served as in-game currencies, which players could spend at Black Markets on items and Boons.

Heists and announced gear
Epic featured Armored Transport convoys and an Armored Train heist. Thermite could be used to open the train’s vault car. The announcement also named weapons and utility items including the Plasma Burst Laser, Rocket Drill, Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, Falcon Eye Sniper, Outlaw Shotgun, Pump & Dump, Port-A-Cover, Pulse Scanner, Med-Mist Grenade and Gold Splash. Some content was scheduled to arrive later in the season, so the announcement should not be read as a claim that every named item was available on launch day.
What was in the LAWLESS Battle Pass?
The pass featured Cassidy Quinn, Joss, Fletcher Kane, Valentina, Big Dill, Keisha Cross and Sub-Zero (MK3). Epic said Outlaw Midas would become unlockable through Battle Pass quests later in March. The pass cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was available through Fortnite Crew, and progression ended with the season on May 2, 2025, Eastern Time.

Epic also posted Chapter 6 Season 2 competitive details. The revised Compete tab added a weekly view, filters for Battle Royale and Zero Build, tournament rewards and standings information, and bookmarking. Epic said tournament formats, schedules and prizes continued from Chapter 6 Season 1, while additional offerings could appear in the in-game tab and on social channels.

In an update dated February 26, Epic said Cowboy Bebop quests would move to February 27 at 9 AM ET and that the Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine outfits were already in the Shop at that time. Those were dated 2025 updates, not current availability information.
